From the Depths of the lost within the Northeast Ohio Metal Scene comes Fisticuff.
Based in Akron, Ohio, Fisticuff is a metal band that has evolved to a new culture of music full of aggression and intensity. Fisticuff formed in 2004 and has created a style of music that is inspired by goals that cannot be reached and the beaten that wont stay down. As physically demanding as it is intense, Fisticuff sounds like a cross breed of Sepultura, Pantera, Fear Factory, and Slipknot. Using these elements of bark style vocals and Soothing harmonies with technical speed and dark grooves. The aggression is backed with fast double kicks and combines it with rhythmically syncopated riffs and intensified sound. Dark natured, it expresses the hatred spurned by the tortured and the tormented.
Inspired by these voices that stir the blood, Paul Johnson on Vocals, Dan Prem on Guitar, Rob Griggy on Bass, Pat Garrett on Drums. Fisticuff sees things in a different light. With songs such as Broke, God Help Me, and Yellow and Red, Fisticuff writes about corruption, Mind on the brink of self distruction and displacent cries for help. The music comes with a crushing sound and quick time changes with a groove that stays constant throughout chaotic transitions and odd time signatures.
Fisticuff brings to the scene a metal sound that has roots in the old school, but with a face that bleeds new life. This band delivers a sound that is crushing and powerful..
There once was a time in the land where the sun was worshiped as god and its embrace with the moon made the earth hold its breath as time stood still in silence, and at that hour the smothered sun shall cloak the whole world in the dead blackness of midnight giving birth to the Element Of Eclipse.
