Fire in the Glen debuted on March 17, 1999, with John Varner on vocals and guitar and Tom Knapp on fiddle, bodhran and backing vocals. Although that lineup lasted only a year, Tom kept the music going with new singer/guitarist Chet Williamson, who helped to redefine the duo’s sound in performances right up through the end of 2007.
Tom is now working with singer/guitarist Jason Mundok to take Fire in the Glen to yet another level. Already, the new partnership is getting rave reviews!! (And not just from their wives, either. Their kids like them, too.)
Fire in the Glen has produced three CDs (On the Road to Lisdoonvarna with Varner, Pirates, Wakes & Whiskey and Let the Wind Blow High with Williamson) and plans to release a new disc in 2008 with Mundok at the helm.
