The usual list of assorted academic nonesense, history, philosophy, politics, and pretty much anything else that can incur a rousing debate of the sort that never results in any formal conclusion but always requires hours of mental gymnastics to navigate. Books, music, movies and computers are also interesting, basically, geek stuff.
Music
Music is a very special kind of expression and it is one that I enjoy greatly but what kind is very much influenced by my mood. typically I enjoy everything from classic and alternative rock to celtic folk. I am also very fond of Les Miserables and the Phantom of the Opera.
Movies
hmm... I enjoy film a great deal in almost every genre, one of my personal forms of escape i suppose. as for favorites... Gladiator, the last samurai, shakespeare in love, I Robot, bladerunner, the american president to name a few... and ANIME!, oh come on you knew that last one had to be in there, I am an admitted geek after all.
Television
a similar set of extremes as my reading preferences, the news, aka cnn and msnbc, though realistically anymore those are about as informative in relevant world affairs as the Sci-Fi channel, speaking of which that one makes the list for Battle Star Galactica, of which I have recently become quite fond and lastly we can't forget the history channel, form which some of the strangest and most interesting information tidbits always seem to come. breaking vegas and modern marvels are undeniably my favorites of what they have produced recently
Books
Depends entirely on wether I'm reading for entertainment or enrichment, I'm quite fond of science fiction/ fantasy when I just need to relax for a few hours. yes, I'm a Tolkien geek, as well as a slew of other fantasy authors. of late, thanks to school i read alot of economic material though if I find the time i'm also fond of the New York Times, when not engrossed in those I generally enjoy a good work from the philosophy aisle. most recently a friend gave me "The Club Dumas" which I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good literary escape.
Heroes
hmm... tough call, the most likely candidates would have to be
Aristotle - for being the last man in western civilization to have theoretically known everything there was to know... or so claimed my Ethics professor, I have to give kudos to anyone who can stuff that much information into their head.
Marcus Aralius - for trying to reconcile power with humanity
and we can't forget Stewie - for being so certain of his goals of world domination prior to considering potty training, if I had that kind of ambition and vision of purpose I would have been done with college 4 years ago.
I'm sure there are several other relevant candidates they just escape me at the moment
wow... great times, you were right. the people are wonderful the drink is better and the song is great. i hope i can come back with you in tow next time.
Wow, its been forever and a day. How you doing? Im glad to see you are still around alive and well. Traveling the world. Thats awsome. I moved to Vegas, got married, and had 2 kids. Life is good. Hope to hear from you soon. Tanya
Just thought I would drop a note and say, "hi"... Then I thought I would leave you an intelligent note... then I realized I never have before, y start now and scare you! LOL!!! How u doin'????
I hate valentine's day, so I'm starting an underground movement ot replace it with Saint ORGASMO's DAY!!!
It'll be sweet: instead of sending people stupid, expensive shit, you just do something to help them get off. THAT'S IT!!! It's simple, cheap, and IT'S TEN TIMES FUCKING COOLER THAN STUPID FUCKING CHOCOLATES!!!
Anyway, until we are victorious, happy chocolate and expensive flowers day!!!
