five dahlias exists as the side-project of Jordan Lewerissa, a Brisbane based illustrator and musician who is currently a part of musical acts tan tan tanuki and HalfKast and The Cure For Everything.
At the moment, the five dahlias project is nothing more than a creative outlet for Jordan's interest in heavier music than that of his other bands. The project is also serving as an experiment in zero-budget home recording and self-educated audio production.
The recording equipment used in this project is humble, to say the least. It consists of an Ibanez AXS32 guitar, an Ibanez TB50R amplifier and a rather old computer loaded with superseded versions of Fruity Loops and Acid. The guitars are recorded into the computer with a partially broken headset microphone.
At the given moment there are vocals on only one (1) of these tracks. Jordan's attempts at vocals are often marred by a deficit in ability/training and a lack of decent recording equipment. As a result, he is usually less than willing to share his vocal efforts with the public.
Jordan is aware that these tunes will most likely be considered quite simplistic and sub-standard to most listeners and his short-falls in production knowledge are many. Feedback is always welcome, provided statements of the obvious are avoided.
Despite the lo-fi nature of the five dahlias workflow, Jordan is nevertheless interested in hearing from anyone who would like to participate in the project. In particular, he is looking for individuals who play the guitar, drums, bass guitar, keyboards or those who have vocal ability. In other words: everyone.
Besides Jordan, five dahlias currently has zero (0) members.

So - enjoy. Or not, as the case may be. No one really gives a toss, anyway.
