Hello. We are Five Day Hemingway, a four piece angular rock band from Edinburgh. We use handclaps, harmonies and hot guitar action to get our message across. Our target market is boys and girls of the human variety. If you are in this cohort, please enjoy! Here's some things that have been said about us:
'Five Day Hemingway are talented, interesting and as cute as isn't patronising. Like Arctic Monkeys after elocution lessons and Coldplay with a bit more backbone' The-mag.co.uk
'The midpoint between Radiohead and The Futureheads. Soaring moments' The Fly
'knee-trembling new musical talent' The List
'Four piece rock outfit with the admirable mission to stand out from the crowd. Weapons of choice include catchy melodies, angular rythms and the occasional handclap' The List
Alongside the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, Test Icicles and Vitalic, Five Day Hemingway were named as one of the top 20 upcoming new bands by The List.
'They beat the majority of local acts hands down. As yet unsigned, Five Day Hemingway showed considerable promise, creating an original clash of melodies around a choice of three lead vocalists' Edinburgh Evening News
'Five Day Hemingway get better and better with each gig they play. A band worth keeping an ear open for' Edinburgh Evening News
'Creative drumming and wandering basslines, and a c'hoice of three lead vocalists provide an interesting and inventive show all-round' Noise Magazine
'An all-round crowd-pleasing performance, you could practically feel the warmth exuding from the audience. Their feel-good music was a breath of fresh air: genuine and heartfelt with a hopeful take-home message' The-mag.co.uk
