Five Field Holler are four guys from the Southwest London area, who like to get together and jam on some funky blues grooves.
The band is Chris Saunders on guitar & voice, Emil Engström on bass, keyboard maestro Marco Andreose and Robin Lowrey on drums.
We write our own material and re-arrange older classics. You won't find any renditions of Everyday I Have The Blues or Stormy Monday, but you will find songs inspired by topics as diverse as reality TV and the credit crunch. Influences range from the classic blues of the 50s and 60s, the New Orleans funk of Professor Longhair, Doctor John and The Meters, slippery Blue Note soul-jazz, modern funk outfits like the New Mastersounds, and greasy Stax flavoured R'n'B.
