About Five O'Clock Shade

The band Five O'Clock Shade (also known as FOCS), is already a heavyweight in the Dutch rockscene. Making 'heavy funkrock with a twist of metal', the band is often compared with their own favorite bands, such as: Audioslave, Alter Bridge, Rage Against The Machine, Nickelback and Extreme.

It all started in 2004 when the boys met at a workshop of the local school of music in the town they lived. After that, things went pretty quick for FOCS. They attented numerous times in several finals of local and national bandcompetitions; The Coca Cola Stagemasters for example. They also played thirty (!) times at festivals and other gigs in The Netherlands as well in Belgium and Germany only in 2006! Coen, Alex and Simon also received awards for Best Drummer, Best Guitarplayer, Best Bassplayer and Best Musician.

After three years of hard work, the boys finally got the big moment they've been waiting for: FOCS won the finals of the national bandcompetition Make More Music! Because of that award, they earned a record deal at E-Sound Music in 2006! As a result of that, FOCS is currently working on their debutalbum "The Morning Of The Monkey" that will be in stores in March 2007
