From Central New Mexico and based out of Big Bad Burque (Albuquerque), Five oh Fresh consists of DJ's/Turntablist Kiddo & OHM(pronounced *ome*) and is the growing collective of turntablists and DJ's who have set forth to put New Mexico on the map in turntabilsm.
With a combined collective of reigning 12 local DJ Battle titles, Five oh Fresh has now made way to expand their local titles to regional, national, and perhaps even global titles.
Kiddo

Kiddo began his journey as a DJ as well as a turntablist in the later part of 1996. Heavily influenced by the sounds of Chicago style house, Kiddo invested in a pair of an entry level turntable set up and began learning the art of mixing.
When 1998 came around, Kiddo got a wake up call in the electronic music world when he first heard the sounds of Drum and Bass at a nearby rave called "Oscillator". Held on the outskirts of Santa Fe in a deli, he got to witness for the first time a live Drum and Bass DJ mixing AND scratching just as he had heard on early R.A.W mixtapes. Soon after, Kiddo is making it his goal to become the most recognized Drum and Bass DJ with a turntablist flavor.
Influenced by the skills of 3x World DMC Champion DJ Craze, Kiddo has an interest in integrating Drum and Bass along with the many of his skills and scratches from turntablism. This interest was first inspired by many of the mixtapes by R.A.W aka BBOY 3000 and was refined soon after seeing DJ Crazes world championship winning DMC routines.
It wasn't until 1999 when Kiddo had reached a wealthy establishment within the electronic music scene and received frequent exposure at raves, hip hop shows, and other events. Playing at shows for the Cosmic Kidz, Cerberus, and more, the young junglist was most recognized for his turntablistic styles of mixing and scratching over Drum and Bass.
Much of his Hip Hop influences come from being around various local Hip Hop artists. He attributes much of his early influences to the bboy crew 3HC as well as their instructors based out of the Harambe warehouse. Although not a dancer, Kiddo's inspiration for Drum and Bass/Hip Hop/breakbeat came from seeing the 3HC breakers and their instructors in action, along with the culture that surrounded the Harambe warehouse.
Standing at a height of 5'5'', Kiddo is most famous for his 'phone books' referring to the phone books he used to elevate himself up to the height of the turntables at a show in Texas back in 2000.
Today, he continues to compete in regional and national battles demonstrating the skills he has worked on and will continue to work on for nearly 10 years with the hopes of being the best in the world. With competition so stiff these days, Kiddo continues to refine his skills to reach perfection behind the turntables.
OHM

OHM first began his journey as a turntablist and started rockin' the 1's and 2's in early 1999. Influenced by a friend of his brothers, OHM began his first scratches on a YORX home phonograph system rockin' Tina Turner and Donna Summers EP's. As time progressed, he was able to afford a much more appropriate DJ set up and began to learn the art of scratching.
OHM's style can be defined by his abstract scratches with a bit of aggression. OHM has begun to develop a more refined style of beat juggles while integrating a wide array of technical sounds.
Being an avid member of the hip hop community, OHM makes constant appearances, performances, and competitive displays every chance he gets.
For his first DMC battle, OHM managed to place 3rd in the Albuquerque regional over 15 other local and out of town competitors. Three years later he entered in the DMC San Antonio Texas regional and took the first place title! This achievement marked the beginning of his pursuit to claim more victories throughout the DJ battle circuit.
