Space, the universe, and stargazing, (now doesn't that cover it all :) ), ham radio - callsign KC2OPF, scrapbooking, walking, swimming (the few months of the year it's warm enough), watching movies, like to read but don't get the time much anymore...
Music
I love most 80's New Wave and other rock, especially the Fixx, and much of what is termed "classic rock", especially Queen. I also love the solo efforts of my favorite bands' members, including Cy Curnin's new solo album, Solar Minimum! Below is the first video from the album!
Click on "View All" below to see my album from the 6/5/09 Fixx show!!
I also made a partial video of The Fool - click and enjoy!
Movies
Thrillers, horror movies where the gore actually advances the plot (otherwise they just gross me out), sci-fi, action flicks, dramas. Not as much of a comedy or romance person, though I loved The Terminal. I like M. Night Shyamalan movies.
Television
Lost & The Amazing Race (though I get frustrated with how bad some of the contestants make Americans look)! I was a big Northern Exposure and ER fan while those were on.
Books
Have read a lot of Star Trek and Star Wars books, enjoy medical thrillers by authors like Robin Cook and Michael Palmer, and murder mysteries. When I do go the girly route, I enjoy Irish author Cathy Kelly (my aunt introduced me to her books). One of the most interesting books I've read in the last few years was Boy's Life by Robert McCammon...an interesting mixture of fantasy, murder mystery, and a tale of a boy's childhood. I think it affected me deeply because I invented an elaborate fantasy of my own as a child as escapism.
Also have to put in a plug for One At A Time: A Week In An American Animal Shelter by Diane Leigh and Marilee Geyer. In a society where we not only throw away things we have no use for anymore, but actual lives, this book forces us to face the consequences. Equal parts heartwarming, sobering, and even graphic, you'll sympathize with not only the animals, but those trying to save them against terrible odds. You'll not likely find the book in stores, but visit their website at www.novoiceunheard.org .

My friends. Without you, I couldn't and wouldn't want to go on.
Carrie Had a nice visit to the art museum yesterday for the Turner to Cezanne exhibit with my mother, brother and Dan. Happy Kwanzaa! Posted at 6:43 PM Dec 27 view more
Hi, Carrie! I hope your vacation was filled with many pleasant memories, fun and relaxation. Have a wonderful turkey day. Will see you on the concert circuit.
Hi Carrie! Hope your Halloween was ghoulish! On to the next holiday, which has now flooded all the stores already!! Hope you are well - and the black kitties!
I just figured out how to cut that IM crap off. I've never been able to get anything to work before when I clicked on the arrow or icon. Irritating. But I'm happy now : )
Hi, Carrie! Your page looks great. Glad to learn your Holiday was filled with fun, happiness and sun. Did some hiking and biking as well. Also went to a few craft shows along the lakeside. Most likely the best weekend of the summer. Now a little "Native American" summer will be fab! TTYL. -Peter
Hi C! Wish you could've seen the 5 day old kitten a friend brought to work today. The mother cat isn't taking care of the runt. So, my friend has formula from the vet. What a tiny little furbie- I hope he survives. So precious. When I told Jon today, he talked about having a fourth kitty- oh dear : ) Bye- C
Hey girl Allergies are something else. This is from hanging out in the yard for a few minutes while Jon cut grass. Won't do that again. I'm armed w/ meds now. I did stay home & skipped a meeting. Already had one mtg this week- that's plenty. Hope you're feeling better, too. Good night- Cary
Hi C, The dragonflies are pretty- we certainly saw a few today out in the yard. Wishing you a happy ocassion- at the ballgame! C-U- around the web, Bye-C

I've just sent you a Creamsicle for your Willy's Sweet Shop. Can you please send me one back? The more gifts we send the more money we can raise for St. Jude Children's Hospital.
Thank you for being my friend on MySpace! This whole ordeal would have been so much more difficult, were it not for the love, support and prayers of our friends! My mom and dad, Kyle and Jess, are profoundly grateful as well!
That's very funny about Night Ranger. Wasn't Sister Christian their only hit? Too bad they mangled it. LOL.
I love my new kitten so much and it really doesn't matter the sex and it will be lots cheaper to get him neutered but he's been answering to Suzy/Suzette for about a month now. Kind of hard to change the name.... A boy named Sue.
Hi Carrie. How is your summer going? Hope to see you in the fall. I can't believe it's July and I've only been to the beach once so far because the weather has been so bad. What's going on upstate? Any other concerts that you are going to?
It's amazing who you can see if you pay attention walking around midtown. Saw author John Irving the other day.... Probably won't see CC unless I go to his favorite haunt Ulysses. Oops, maybe I shouldn't broadcast that.....
