Quest, Monie Love, Arrested Development (didnt know Nadirah Shakoor was then a member of them!)
a bit of Ice T and Public Enemy and even some MC Hammer at specific times!
Always embraced the underground shapes and forms of dance music and totally fell
in love with the deep and soulful sounds of House in the mid 90s (called 'Garage' then) courtesy
of productions and remixes by MAW, Todd Terry, Roger Sanchez, DJ Sneak, Cliviles & Cole,
CJ Mackintosh, Tony Humphries, Heller & Farley, Frankie Knuckles & David Morales of course.
Totally inspired at the time, by hearing the dj sets from greek house djs at
the likes of Aris, Dennis, Ms Lefki, Akylla and Patra's - my hometown - finest house dj we
ever had, namely Alex Sillektis. Summer Of 1996, moved in the UK for almost 5 years. This point was a
massive 'big bang' for me and actually in musical terms, never looked back.
The musical inspiration was unstoppable and kept flowing like a waterfall, and I realised that this
music was a big part of my life and of who I am. I am entirely grateful for being so lucky to see, hear
and dance to the beats of so many DJs I always wanted to see and also being grateful for being to
massive parties and festivals (Back 2 Basics, Deja Vu, MoS, Creamfields, Southport Weekender)
which I still consider a true lifetime experience. The fact also that I was given the chance to play
the music that I love to many many many like-minded people at various UK spots, is something
I always recall at certain moments when torturing the mixer and harassing the decks.
Djing since 1994, was always for the love of music, and also been on the radio as a DJ, producer
and sound engineer since 1993. Back to Greece at last since 2001 and currently being the official -South Western- greek radio promoter and presenter of Mark Stone's
(Basel, Switzerland) already famous UDMShow (http://www.udmshow.com) which is aired every
Saturday 21:00-23:00 (CET) on Patra's radio station MOJORADIO 107.7.
Same time on Sundays you can catch me along with my guests, spinning the finest deep and soulful vibes
and talking about house in a 2hr mixed journey.
