Sounds Like
Max Bygraves picking his nose deep within the bowels of ancient Eygypt..
Flake Brown was born of humble peasant stock in a small hamlet in what is now Normandy, circa 1268. Few details of his early life are known, apart from brief references in Whatcar? magazine. What is known, however, is that by 1952 he had mastered the papier mache lute, and was regularly jamming with George Formby, Max Bygraves, and other eminent members of the post war prefab movement. Here follows a recent interview from some newspaper or other, i don't know what one, does it matter?
Snake: I notice that your songs use alot of music. What gives you the right?
Flake: My musics just about feeling man, its about soul brother, its about the emotions that come across, like anger, envy, spite, all those things, its like we're all drops in the same ocean, trying to get back to the garden, yeah?
Snake: yeah I feel you, you're quite slimey actually. What to you is the most significant invention of the past 800 years?
Flake: Well Snake, its got to be the mobile phone for the way it enables people to connect with each other with the greatest of ease - it has truly been the catalyst for the dawn of the new Global Age!
Snake: Finally, I see your debut album - 'Help The Overdog' - is now out on Autumn Ferment Records. What took you so long?
Flake: well to be honest i feel i was a little to hasty with the 'dog. I'm scheduling the follow up for the Age of Capricorn!

"Compilations with as much strength and depth as this one deserve a great deal of credit. In an age of ipod playlists and internet leaks, albums like these have a job on their hands to provide a fresh cross-section. Luckily for us, Hilldrop Records have achieved this with honours" Charlie Ashcroft ***** Artrocker Magazine
Hallo Anthony, I notice your online jst now! I was away for the weekend; I went away on Friday-train to Gourock, I came back last night. I was with the Harveys & 'AC' etc. I noticed you had phoned on satrday. Im a bit embarassed about one of the vids Ive put on my blog. (the one with Julie Andrews & Kathy Bates) 'embarass'!
Im glad you like the 'youtube' vid of Peter, Paul and Mary that I put on last friday. I was trying to 'share' it with my bebo page but it wasnt working for some reason so I tried it on Myspace. I didnt think it had posted there either! I first heard this recording on Jeremy Vines prog on Radio 2 in September; they played it as Mary Travers had just died aged 72 with Leukemia. Id never heard it before either. I think its better than the Trini Lopez recording, Ive never liked it! I think this recording sound spirited in the way that some folk/protest songs did in the 60s. I thought at the time it would be nice to have it on my bebo page as a tribute to Mary Travers. Its good to see youve got Youtube videos of yourself already; Im just going to see if I can get them onto bebo! I hope I can.
Thanks tony for the comment. The music is going well, we are trying to record a single/e.p. for January release, we have had some dodgy experiences with producers before and then a long debate/discussion on their relevance in general. After must deliberation and back and forth wrangling we decided we need one and quick before we dry up. Personally i am casually employed and looking for more casual employment. How about you, do you have any plans for more music on autumn fervent? Emilio mmmelodic
Well met, wandering Flake. It must yet be said: it was a pleasure and a privilege to catch your grooly tones at the Nibley minstrel feast this summer and to unroll with beer alongside you and yours. Also still loving Overdog though, as well as my blinkered eyes can see, there are no bricks here.
Just been listening to the scorpion cough. Great chords - very djago - no idea what the words are about - but who needs words when the music is this good? Discuss
Ah, thank you so much. I'm glad you liked them. I have had your 'Bucket
full of fools' song in my head all day, it makes lots of sense to me,
as do your other songs. You cite the Incredible String Band as one of
your influences, I am also a big fan of theirs - Nick from Bom-Bane's
introduced me to them. Hope to see you play live again sometime as it
was a real treat last time. See you at school! Rosi
thanks tony! i really enjoyed yours as well, and your videos... i feel we are of the same tribe friend... hope to play together someday. all the best. christopher
Hallo Anthony. A band have just added me as a friend on here who I accepted; their called Salvation and live in Lossiemouth! Ive sent them a comment & told them about you; I just said that I have a twin bro who is also on myspace under the name Flake Brown and that you write your own songs and play the guitar & I mentioned that Id been to one of your gigs at a pub inEast London; they may add you as a friend also! I also told them that you had an album published by someone who lives in Forres. I though they might be interested to know.
Muchly enjoying your cd, in fact someone likened your voice to an angry bumble bee at some points (in all the very best ways!) Also, music for a found harmonium is amazing. take care.
