I named the Gallery/Cafe Flamepoeira: A marriage of Flamenco and Capoeira. I figured that the dance forms originated out of sadness, struggles and slavery when the gypsies in Spain and the African slaves in Brazil invented their dances to give themselves joy and hope when their basic means of life were taken from them. The name is fitting and it holds very special meaning to me. I want it to be a place where I'll always be reminded that through darkness there is light.

Thanks a lot for your kind email! We are happy that you love our music... even if we have a lot of Flamenco scales in most songs it's so different from your usual interests, so we appreciate very much your request. Metal kisses, Fran

All right, I'll be in town starting wed. When is a good day/time for Jessica and me to show up for a little juerga? Get your bulerias por fin de fiesta prepared! Hell, even if we have to get our llamadas on in the street!
I have no intention to see any specific doors open, but I believe that something like Capoeira will inevitably become a beautiful unfolding. And for that I am excited and grateful. I'll see you next week!
Langelo,, You are a magnificent man. It was an honor to play at Flamepoeira. Your friends were just as warm, generous and interesting as yourself. It is immediately aparent that you have created a sacred space inside the walls of flamepoeira and that is all that any performer needs. I hope to visit again someday, and may life bless you with much success. ~Lance
Thanks so much for the note! The new song up on my page is by the pianist Alejandro Carrasco I'm collaborating with and who was at your place at the performance in Feb. Check out more of his stuff at http://myspace. com/alxcondecarrasco snd enjoy! Thanks so much for all your hard work and devotion to the arts, by the way!
