Drawing on a diverse range of influences FK honed their collaborative song-writing skills around a strong focus on melody, harmony, energy and riffing; and although essentially a “guitar rock” band, FK have created their own distinctive sound that is hard to compare to one single band or influence.
A debut demo EP “One Way to Waste a Weekend” was recorded at Exile Studio. It features 4 'live' recorded songs, plus a video for "Inveilged", and captured and represented the vibrancy, energy, precision and musicianship inherent in their live shows. It is all available for your listening (dis)pleasure above. 2 more tracks recorded in late 2007 before Dave left the band have been added.
In 2007 FK were selected to perform at the T-Break Showcase 07 and also picked and played by Vic Galloway, BBC Radio Scotland, as an “Unsigned Hero” (April 23rd 2007).
From 2006-2008 they have supported touring acts such as The Noisettes, My Latest Novel, I Was A Cub Scout, Fortune Drive and The Grim Northern Social.
Formed in late 2005 in Aberdeen, FK originally consisted of Euan Barr (vocals & guitar), Dave Donaldson (vocals & guitar), Andy Mulhern (bass) and Duncan Dallas (drums & vocals). Dave left in early 2008 to concentrate on his imaginary side project "Johnny Telso and the half-wanks" but remains a drinking associate and life friend. Andy, Duncan and Euan occasionally talk about carrying on as a 3 piece, averaging 1 practice every 6 months. Watch this space......or not.
