Flares fanden im Spätsommer 2007 mehr zufällig als geplant zusammen.
Grundgedanke nach kurzer Zeit war, Musik mehr passieren zu lassen, als in ein Korsett zu pressen. Löst die Musik beim Hörer ein ganz persönliches Kopfkino aus, findet sie ihre Intention, nämlich einen Soundtrack zu ganz individuell gestalteten Bildern darzustellen.
Ziemlich genau ein Jahr nach der Gründung war die Zeit reif für die ersten professionellen Aufnahmen. Hierzu begaben wir uns im September 2008 einige Tage in das gemütliche SU2 Studio in Illingen, wo Phil Hillen unsere erste EP mit dem Titel „Levitation“ aufnahm und masterte. Das Artwork stammt von John Lee S. ( www.arsonarts.net ).
Live wurde die Bühne inzwischen mit Bands wie Schneller Autos Organisation (Polpop), Llynch (Bastardized Recordings), This will destroy you ( Magic Bullet Recordings ) und Red Sparowes (Neurot Recordings) geteilt.

Flares were formed in late summer of 2007.
Basic thoughts on the music were soon about letting the songs just happen and not fitting them in some kind of structure. If the songs initiate invididual motion pictures inside the head of the listener, then they're also finding their purpose, and thats providing a soundtrack.
One year past the foundation, we got to record our first ep "levitation" on a professional level. It was recorded and mastered in september '08 in Phil Hillen's comfortable "SU2 Studios" in Illingen/Germany. The artwork was done by John Lee S. ( www. arsonarts. net).
