FLASH HARRY play a foot stomping, highly danceable set with songs from the swamp lands of Louisiana to the hills of Kildare, bridged by bluesey bottleneck riffs in the vein of Rory Gallagher. The band comprises fiddle and mandolin player Pete Watson, guitar and ukelele Roger Slade, saxophones and whistle Vicki Burke, stick bass Chris Mitchell and drums John Furlong. Musicianship is to the fore with fiddle, sax and guitar combining to produce an unusual mixture of musical variations, complemented by 4 part vocal harmonies. Our 4th CD 'Who's Harry' is in the shops now at the bargain price of a fiver.......honest guv.

That's right! "The best swingabilly band in town!"

Yes after several months of playing far-flung planets in the outer reaches of the galaxy (Devizes, Swindon, even bits of Wales!), The Atomic Rays are returning to their home turf of Earth.
Or more precisely Bristol.
They will be at the Bunch of Grapes (a regular haunt if ever there was one) on Friday 19/12/08 for a bit of Christmassy Rock.
(There may well be fairy lights, Slade and The Crystals done a la Deep Purple)
Yes, we know its probably your office party but I bet you're right round the corner. What better way of impressing the typing pool (do they still have such things) than by dragging them to a proper pub after the party to see a proper rock covers band doing whatever it is The Rays do (flamboyance, theatre and energy, I believe)?
Don't forget its free...
And if that isn't enough, remember that tickets for The Rays' New Years Eve bash at The Prom are currently on sale from The Prom and the Bristol Ticket Shop (£15).
And that's on 31/12/08.
Obviously.
The next Bristol gigs currently booked aren't until late February so it would be nice to see you in December.
(And don't forget we are currently sporting a new guitar Ray!)
