the Flash It Up Soundmachine is based in Antwerp (Belgium). We, Lord Lyta & Miss Jigal started our soundsystem in july 1999 in the reggae-bar "Cool Runnings". We've played several times there before moving on to bigger crowds, mostly in Belgium and in France. Our style? (Very) globally caribbean : reggae, dancehall, jungle, hip-hop, grime, soca, rocksteady... but also baile funk, cumbia, electro crunk, dubstep & other mash-ups. Our specialty? Homemade remixes & blends (more than 300) available on the 20 mix-cds we've released already, all sold out & now free for download HERE
Some places where we already fired up : the Reggae Geel festival 2003, the famous braderie de Lille (France) 2002, Djoloff (Lille) (big up 12 Sound!), Meeting Of Stylez Graffiti Jam 2002, longside Killamanjaro Sound inna Petrol (Antwerp), Mo6z-festival 2004(Hove), warm up for the Benelux Cup Clash Final 2005, Scheldapen (Antwerp), several times Bar Napoleone (Antwerp), the fashion victims clothing-store Fish & Chips (Antwerp), longside artists like Original Uman, Lord Bitum, Robert Lee, Anthony Johnson... and many more.
Currently, we're more busy in the studio than on the dancefloors, still remixing for ourselves but also for other belgian soundsystems (dubplate & specials remixes) like Skankin Rebel Audiosystem, Majestical Sound, Heartbeat Movement & Original Red Alert Sound. We're also producing remixes for european coming-up artists like King Johnny & TD Rankin (both from Belgium), Chin (from Denmark), Tungtvann (from Norway) or Richie Riott (JA/Sweden)
