Who I'd like to meet: Listeners, supporters, people with conscience and colleagues in independent journalism
Utah Phillips is very, very ill. He can no longer perform and urgently needs financial help. He has given so much to the One Big Union and progressive people everywhere. Now is the time to show him what we learned from him and to put into practice the solidarity he taught us.
I.W.W. Musician, Singer, Poet, Writer, and, most of all Organizer - Utah Phillips has spent his life uplifting the spirits of all struggling against the bosses to build a better world. At all his concerts he had it stipulated that wobblies would be present to fundraise and organize.
He has been the voice for "...all those thousands of unnamed wobblies buried in unmarked graves throughout the west." Don't let that voice go unanswered.
Cards, messages and money can be sent to: UTAH PHILLIPS BOX 1235 NEVADA CITY, CA 95959

That's what the President of San Francisco State University said about our mural. Anyone else can have one, but he's refusing to give us ours, he says a Palestinian house key and Handala is “explicitly offensive”! Acknowledging Palestinian roots/culture/ identity is explicitly offensive? Don't let him get away with it. Tell your Family and Friends what's going on.
Be part of something revolutionary! The President of San Francisco State University, Robert A. Corrigan says he won’t approve our Palestinian Mural so we are doing a petition drive right now! It’s the First Palestinian Mural in a University in the United States and it’s honoring Professor Edward Said. Two governing boards approved it but he remains against it. Sign this mural and pass it on. Don’t let him get away it! Comment it and let President Corrigan know what you think and why he should let the Mural go up! His email: ( corrigan@sfsu.edu, gups@sfsu.edu, cortez@sfsu.edu ) Please cc gups and Liliana Cortez the chair of the board.

Massive protest rally against Vicente Fox in Los Angeles at the Music Center summoned by APPO-LA.
The huge poverty and unemployment growth in Mexico, the major number of Mexican people forced to cross the United States border-including the 3000 people who had died doing so-, and imprisonment and repression to those who would manifest against the corrupted government were the characteristics in six years (2000-2006) by the government of Vicente Fox and his "government
of change" in Mexico.
The miners killed in Pasta de Conchos in Coahuila Mexico, the brutality actions by the Federal State applied to people who demanded their rights and justice in San Salvador Atenco, Estado de Mexico; Isla Mujeres-Quintana Roo; Sicartsa in Michoacan, Mexico; and Oaxaca, among other violently "hard-hand" actions are samples of the murderer, repressor, and fascist Mexican
Government leaded by Vicente Fox.
Now, the Ex-President of Mexico, Vicente Fox, found a new job which will start in Los Angeles on January 29 as a public speaker. The Music Center published on its web-page (http://www.musiccenter.org/calendar/44.html) Vicente Fox supposedly helped the democracy in Mexico and Mexico's economy
growth.
The people from Oaxaca and from other parts of Mexico living in the United States surely know that the concept of democracy by Vicente Fox means hunger, imprisonment, repression, and death to people. The positively growth of Mexico's economy during Vicente Fox's government was only for those national and international powerful business men and Vicente Fox's
family members...
For those reasons, the coalition of organizations that came together in APPO-Los Angeles and the Frente Indigena de Organizaciones Binacionales (FIOB) are summoning everybody (individuals, organizations, collectives, communities, etc.) to participate in the massive protest rally against
Vicente Fox. The massive protest rally will be held at the Music Center, located in downtown Los Angeles, at 5:00 P.M.
