""Life is not a journey to the grave with the intentions of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out and proclaiming: WOW! WHAT A RIDE!" By "Ellie""

"From the minute we are born established beliefs are force fed into every atom of our being. We are told that we can do anything, yet at the same time allowed only to do things that society deems as acceptable. The more we subscribe to society’s values the more we are praised. The more we think for ourselves the more we are disliked, discredited, and punished. The amount of value placed on our ideas is proportional to how similar our ideas are to that of society.
But what are society’s ideas and where do they come from? The problem is that our beliefs stem from our parents and their culture, and our parent’s received their values from their parents and their culture. Everything we hold as truth is just copies with mutations of preexisting ideas trickled down to us from some beginning. It is analogous to the evolution of Life on earth from a Biological perspective. There is, however, a great failure on our part to ask the important question: What is the beginning and how do we know if it is correct? And furthermore, since we are immersed in this system how can we gain an objective viewpoint to ask the question of whether or not this system stems from logical premises. Also, how are we certain that logic is the correct mode of thinking and not just some arbitrary system accepted by mass consciousness?
Because of these problems the validity of our entire system is rarely if never questioned in a logical, thorough, all encompassing manner. A number of good questions arise from these thoughts.
What happens if we try to check the validity of the system, and how do we try?
What happens if we find that the root of our entire system is based upon an illogical premise?
If our system stems from an illogical premise what happens if we yank out the root and replace it with a seed of truth?" -Jamie Alop
