I studied composition with Sir John Tavener and Simon Bainbridge before starting my undergraduate degree at the Royal College of Music, studying composition with Jeremy Dale Roberts, piano with Ian Lake and, whilst there, I also studied in seminar groups with Brian Eno,Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, and George Benjamin. I then did my post-grad at the Royal Scottish Academy Of Music and Drama studying towards a post-graduate diploma and then Masters.
My music has been performed by, amongst others, the : Sinfonia of London, Philharmonia Orchestra, Belcea Quartet, City of Birmingham Choir, Morley College Choir, Composers' Ensemble,Orchestre De Volharding, Croft Ensemble, Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Philharmonic Orchestra, Psappha, London Festival Orchestra, Kensington Philharmonic Orchestra, Paragon Ensemble, Edinburgh Quartet, and Trinity Chamber Choir.
Performance venues have included : Purcell Room, South Bank Centre, St. Johns Smith Square, Victoria & Albert Museum, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Tate Gallery, Grand Opera House(York), Tron Theatre(Glasgow), and Riverside Studios(London), and in the fesitvals of : Spitalfields, Brighton, Plug and Edinburgh Fringe.
Since graduating, apart from composing for the concert-hall, I have worked on west-end shows as a musical director and written some music for film and television.
