Flesh for Lulu formed in London around('83-'84) the time when the punk scene was becoming a generic dirge of uniforms and staid, pseudo ideolagy. Frustrated with this bland wasteland, Nick, Rocco and James Mitchell, along with several other london bands and night-crawlers gravitated towards a tiny, seedy soho club called "The Batcave". This was the place where it is widely credited that "Goth" originated, although FFL later denied any affiliation, despite sporting black lip-stick and towering hair. The band went on to tour the globe with the likes of the sisters of mercy, P.I.L, The Ramones, Gene Loves Jezebel, The Cramps and many other memorable(?) excursions. After the 3rd album release, FFL made a big commercial breakthrough in the USA with "postcards from paradise" and "i go crazy" both singles featured in soundtracks for John Hughes directed teen-movies, which took the band into the main-stream as well as alienating the original,"alternative" following. After a disasterous trip to Australia to record a follow up record, relations broke down and the Lulu's soldiered on with only Nick and Rocco remaining. In 1996 they recorded the now legendary"dissenchanted"lp under the name"Gigantic" with Dave Blaire and Al Fletcher on a big corporate label who dropped the album amidst some kind of internal dispute. After a few attempts to re-release the album, the band members drifted off into other projects. Marsh recorded the solo album "A Universe Between Us" available at www.nickmarsh.info, produced by Katharine Blake (Miranda Sex Garden, Mediaeval Baebes). He also formed The Naked Goat with other MSG member, Ben Golomstock and wrote and recorded with Mediaeval Baebes. Rocco, as well as doing his own record, has made a "reality tv home make-over show"called "A Place in Spain"centering around his home in Barcelona for channel 4 t.v, (screening now) Having been presented with the idea of re-releasing a best-of, Nick and Rocco have decided to re-record a selection of songs with long time studio(and tour) producer Harvey Birrell. These recordings are now nearing completion and you will get to hear them here first.

In my opinion "POSTCARDS FROM PARADISE" Is the greatest song ever written! PERIOD!
When I was a youngster I always hear this song being played by my uncle but never knew the name of the band and or it's title. Now after all those years I finally found out and am here now enjoying the song over and over again.
It's a soothing, melodic, catchy, soft with some rough edges at the right places, and most of all very memorable. All the best aspects a song could ever have!
