Biography
The amazing seed of music was planted in his spirit when as a child he watched his great uncle, Richard Davenport, play his guitar; when in his youth his father made him a set of bongos from coffee cans; when his mother encouraged him to explore his gifts. From that point on, he was hooked on that thing called music.
Flick was born and raised in Buffalo, New York at a time when the music scene was vibrant. The sounds of bands playing and musicians practicing could be heard in every corner of the city, and he knew that he had to be a part of that sound. In grade school he took violin, and clarinet lessons. In Jr. High he moved on to the saxophone, flute, and was a member of the Choir. Flick went on to Buffalo's East High School, which at that time was a musician's candy store. People like Grover Washington, Rick James, Kenny Hawkins, the Shaw brothers, Jerry Livingston, and most of the hottest musicians on the local scene passed through those doors. He was in the school band, the choir, participated in talent shows, and though he was under age, Flick was playing in clubs with some of the hottest bands in town.
It was at this time that he began to write and arrange music in various styles. He practiced and grew musically with the help of his brothers who are also musicians. Wile at East High, Donald Hilliard, his high school music teacher, talked to him about the importance of a college education in attaining his goals, and arranged an audition at Hampton University. He was accepted, and received a music scholarship.
During his stay at Hampton, Flick served as President of his freshman class, worked on the school newspaper, was a member of the Concert and Gospel Choir's, The Hampton Players Drama Club, a member of the band Quazar and was active in all aspects of college life.
After Graduation Flick was blessed to work professionally with artist such as Bill Lee, Ron Carter, Olivia Newton John, and Stevie Wonder and recorded, and toured with many groups and artist including Rick James. Flick not only flourished as a performer but also blossomed as a writer. It was during this period that he wrote and produced two video productions for cable 10 in Buffalo. " Buffalo More Than a City ", and " The Wish ".
Flick has also performed as an actor in many productions: "Tremonisha", "Porgy and Bess", "The Duplex", Don't Bother Me I Can't Cope", Two Trains Running", and "The Depot". Flick has served as a teacher in the Buffalo Public School System, worked as a music teacher at the State University of New York at Buffalo's summer youth program, Musical Director of Ujima Theatre, and was an Artist in Residence at the Buffalo Academy of Visual and Performing Arts.
Throughout his career as a writer, arranger, and performer he has never confined himself to one style of music. The one thing that remains constant in his musical journey is writing, exploring, and painting musical pictures in various styles. From Jazz to Classical, R & B to Reggae, the music is what’s important not the label.
And a message from Richard Lamonte Williams (Flick).
I have been blessed to express the feelings of the soul through music, and what I've received through these blessings far exceed what I could ever give. Through the love of my family and friends, and those close to my heart. Through the strength of my ancestors, and through the grace of God, I leave you with this:
Plant a seed of Love,
In the soil of Hope.
Nurture it with the Nectar of Wisdom
Smile and watch it Grow.

I know many people have mixed feelings about the celebrating of independence in this country. I've thought about it a lot and I too acknowledge that as a nation we still have a long way to go towards achieving independence in the real sense of the word. However, I celebrate today because, although I may not have the freedom to fully pursue my dreams, due to financial restrictions or otherwise, I still have independence of mind and spirit and that, for me, is reason enough to celebrate.
In honor of this day, I've uploaded a new song from my upcoming album. It's called "Who Do You Love" and it's about the constant quest for love of self, because that's where love starts, yes? Please check it out when you have a moment, and let me know what you think.
And, whatever you do on this occasion, whether you celebrate Independence Day or not, I wish you independence of mind and spirit, for without those two things, no one is truly free!
Just recorded a new version of a classic by The Jets, You Got It All...

Michael Jackson will always be with us... through his music .. God have called him to Duty in heaven, and Michael have left us to recieve his wings, and take rank in gods Mighty Kindom. Music is a special part of our physical and spritual lives.... it's the very connection that bonds people from one part of the world to the other. We must realize that all of us will be called home one day... and that's how God planned it. We are here a short while and then we return to our true home.. a home that can never be taken, seperated, or broken into. And the creater is right by our side to protect us day and night... Michael you are truely a star, because your brightness shines beyond the heavens..... rest in peace... and we will see you soon.... Because of my love for you i have writen you a special song..........your friend Marion Pharoah
There comes a time when we hear a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
and it's time to lend a hand to life
There greatest gift of all
We can't go on pretending day by day
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change
We are all a part of God's great big family
And the truth, you know,
Love is all we need
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
it's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
Send them your heart so they'll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stones to bread
So we all must lend a helping hand
When you're down and out, there seems no hope at all
But if you just believe there's no way we can fall
Let us realize that a change can only come
When we stand together as one
Summer Solstice happens once a year, when the tilt of the Earth's axis is most inclined toward the Sun, causing the Sun's apparent position in the sky to reach its northernmost extreme. The name is derived from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still), because at the solstice the Sun stands still before reversing its direction.
In honor of this day, I'm wishing you a moment to feel the Sun on your face and Love in your heart! Go and do something wonderful!
