A non-profit organization working to revitalize Flint through collective creative action. But more than just that--we are artists, volunteers, community outreach, and friends, all working to make this a better place to live via our art and our passion.
Without creativity, what can we create here? Without hope, how can we truly live here? Without each other, how can we have a community? It is our hope that by bringing more art, more community service, and more life into Flint that it will create an atmosphere people will want to live in and help maintain. We are the enemies of despair and boredom.
WHO?
Artists and anyone who appreciates art - like you! We come from all backgrounds, and all artistic disciplines. From painters to poets to DJs to models to filmmakers to writers to musicians, and everything in between. We are a network of dreamers and doers, working to help the community as we help one another. And even if you just appreciate the arts and want to help make this a better place, we need you. This is not a job for a few, but a challenge for all of us.
WHEN AND WHERE?
Meetings are held at the Churchills food and spirits on Saginaw st in downtown Flint. We meet every Wednesday at 7 PM. We discuss our events, what each team is up to, and what we can do to help the city and each other. Minutes for each meeting are also sent out to the mailing list so all of us can keep up on what the group is up to if we can't make it to all the meetings.
We also have a radio show @ 94.3 FM WFUF every Thursday and Friday from noon til 2 PM. This is where we feature local music, artists, and give you a chance to hear bands and people making this a better place to live. If you are a Flint music maker and have clean tracks you'd like to get out and heard, message us your contact info and we'll help you out!
Also check us out on the web at WWW.FLINTCA.ORG and find out about events, members, and other info about the group.
HOW?
This is our community, even if you are not from Flint. This is a place that needs and deserves to be helped, and using our passion, our art, and our friendship, we can do just that. We are always interested in what you and the community have to say, and we welcome feedback. More than anything, though, we need friends and allies to help us make this a better place to live.
Come to a meeting.
Send us an email.
Join our web forums.
More than anything...get involved!
Huge Success Everyone! Thank you to all the sponsors, the venue, all the hard working staff and volunteers, all the bands and crew, all the vendors and all the guests. We all did our best to throw the best show possible. Please know that we appreciate all the help we have received. None of this would have happened if it were not for the continued support and volunteered time from all of you. Let us enjoy the rest of the summer and we will start talking about next year's Juneboreee! in the winter time. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us here!
Thanks for checking me out! Write-in campaigns fail at a rate of about 90%. I know I have a hard row to hoe. I am still going to give it the old college try! As I run my campaign, remember that some old folks and all the professional politicians are not going to want you to vote for me, and our medical marijuana platform. Watch out 4 , as you young folks say the player h8ters and the liars. As more people find out about us, some old folks and all the professional politicians, will see that you want jobs, and will try to stop us. Don’t fall 4 their tricks!
Legal medical marijuana is an industry that here in Flint is not controlled by white folk, not controlled by black folk. It does not exist. As your Mayor I want to create an industry together , so all young black and white folks have a job, and I also wont forget our Hispanic and Asian brothers and sisters.
I will be hitting the streets in June. Debate this with anyone you know. Even Arnold is now talking about marijuana! Twice in the City of Flint you voted for medical marijuana! 1 more vote and you will have a leader who is going to follow your will (votes). Let’s do this people! The City of Flint is going to be a young people’s town! Medical cannabis is legal right now! Let’s get to work!
The place called Flint, that was a murder city , no jobs and full of abandon homes, and deplorable city conditions. Shall be no more! Together we can create an industry based on fairness. The 21st century City of Flint is growing to be #1. Join us won’t you? I am not going to try and buy your vote. I will work for it. Young people, if you want this, you have to get the word out! I am going to need 13,000 write in votes! Peace,
