Jon Connor/ Duce-O Biography
Jon Connor aka Duce-O is in his early twenties. He is an awesome rapper/producer/ghost writer/ beat maker/ R&B song creator & Co-CEO of Avie Squad Records. Jon Connor was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. He was raised on Flint's North Side in a neighborhood located off of the notorious Dayton Ave. Dayton Ave. is also home to one of Flint's legendary rap groups The Dayton Family. He began rapping at the young age of 10. By the age of 14 he founded his own independent record label Avie Squad Records with Co-CEO Jason Monk. Using money that he earned doing odd jobs in the neighborhood, Jon Connor created a low budget studio in his mother's basement.
As a freshman in high school Jon Connor began selling his own mixtapes out of his school backpack and out of the trunk of his mothers car with the help of his older sister. By 18, Jon Connor had developed a name for himself in the Flint music scene. He completed an entire movie score for the independent Basketball Documentary Film Flint Star The Motion Picture. To complete the movie score he used new and some old music that dated back to when he was 15 years old. He later went on to shoot his first independent music video that same year.
At the ripe age of 20, he teamed up with the southern based beat making team of E. Rude and Kev Williams to create the mixtape/album (The Calling Pt. 1 The Prequel). His label Avie Squad Records has released more than 10 underground mixtapes within the last five years. However, this is the most professional and classic material to be released to date from Jon Connor. The Calling is an awesome blend of pure hip hop flow, unique beats, solid production, and realistic content. Jon Connor is a young musical talent who will be a force in urban music for years to come. About me: I am a veteran Educator. I am also an independent filmmaker and the creator of the Basketball Documentary Film Flint Star "The Motion Picture". This Documentary Film deals with the harsh reality of the inner city plight, while exploring the historic relationship that Flint, MI. has developed with basketball.
Flint Star was completely funded through my teacher's salary and credit cards. I feel that I have created one of the very best documentary films in the country. Our customers have been greatly satisfied with the quality and overall excitement of the film. The featured NBA, NCAA, High School, and youth athletes add to the depth of the film. In addition, we feature some of the most talented young musicians in the state on the movie score. Lastly, the (Uncut Street) DVD version of the film features a 50 minute DVD Bonus page containing Basketball Highlights, Exclusive Music, and Interviews!
