"Flip Flop" are Chris Hanson (aka Touch Tone/Sketchy Pimps/DJ Crispy) and John Beesemyer-Monkman (aka Hemi-Sync/Pink Noize), two producers from the UK. Both have been writing trance for over seven years, using this time to hone their production techniques
and allow their sound to develop into the kicking Full
On/Progressive hybrid that it has become.
With influences from many different genres of music and a tendency to think outside the box, their music stands out at home as well as on massive sound-systems.
Huge slabs of groove and tripped out sonic sound-scapes are
interlaced with a melodic structure subtly easing its way out of the
arrangement.
Both Chris and John DJ and Play live regularly around the UK in
addition to international gigs played in Brazil, German, Thailand, France, Sweden, Denmark and
India.
PROMOTIONAL "BLURB" FOR THE ALBUM:
Alchemy records are proud to unleash Flip Flop's first long player on
the world. John Beesemyer-Monkman and Chris Hanson are two young
Londoners who have been cooking it up for a while
now, testing the material on dancefloors across the globe then
whipping it back into the studio for some added power and squelch. Its
rare that artists introduce a genuinely new sound to the scene but a
brief listen to Flip Flop will show you that they are trying something
different and that its working. If you've been on a heaving festival
dancefloor in the last year and have wondered what that exotic hybrid
of psychedelic trance and deep atmospheric electronica is that shakes
the system to its foundations, there's a fighting chance that these
two are responsible.
John and Chris have been friend's since they were kids and unlike a
lot of artists they have really grown up with trance music since
arguably its heyday of creativity in the late 90s. This is clear from
the way that the album transports you back to classics like
"Slipstream" (Flying Rhino), "Schizoeffective" (The Delta),
"Headcleaner" (Atmos) as well as more recent releases like "Who needs
love songs" (Sub 6) not to mention plenty of input from two
consecutive winters wowing the dancefloors of Brasil. Thier live sets
at festivals like Universo Parallelo have repeatedly been seen as
highlights by party goers and other artists alike. They have both been
DJing for more than ten years, giving them an acute understanding of
what it takes to push tracks beyond the superficial and into the realm
of powerful and captivating dancefloor music. They don't merely churn
it out and there's a lot of love and discipline in the studio which
adds a welcome depth and confidence to their sound.
So immersed in music and parties are these boys that you have probably
shared a cup of sunrise chai or at least a smiling dance with them
without even realizing it. Their warm personalities have made them
easy guests for party people and much in demand as a live act, and
this character shines out of the album.
Floppy Drive crunches and clobbers its way through 80 minutes of bold
and shuddering, groovy and hypnotic dance music. Flip Flop aren't
locked in by the rules of the genre instead utilizing them to build
stunning sound scape's, even at times creeping away from trance music
with snatches of ambiance and technoid crossover which reward the
listener without confusing the palette. Tuck in!
REVIEW IN DJ MAG
Londoners John Beesemyer-Monkman and Chris Hanson have been mates since childhood and this bond certainly flows through to the music, as this no-nonsense artist album is one serious piece of kit. Its great to see more and more producers avoiding the candy tunes and concentrating on the job in hand; music for the dancefloor. Tracks like "Floppy Drive" and "Francoso" are killers with a dark driving edge, musical yet mysterious. An amazing, serious take on psy-trance.

Adviruz is the artist psedonym of Istanbul’s Pinar Gurcan, whose growing passion for sound is translated through her music. Since an early age, she has been listening and mimicking opera singers, writing melodies, songs and poems in which she spoke her mind and reflected her soul. All of which are evident on "Nightly Sounds", an 8 track album which is the equivilent of having a glimpse into a diary, learning of love lost, gained, a snapshot of the human condition from which we can all draw experience... All of these things are developed musically into minimalistic glitch, noise, idm, experimental music and microsounds, its influences reminiscent of work by artists like Tujiko Noriko, Mira Calix, Plaid and Björk.
Adviruz and Section 27 present "Nightly Sounds", an intricately woven and rewarding musical tapestry. Available now for free download.

This is the sound of your mind's eye. This is the sound of the Sectioned... Strap yourself in and enjoy the experience.
Also features a 75 minute bonus disc "Sectioned : Nonimxs", including 9 remixes of selected Section 27 artists by Nonima and 2 original tracks created by Silent Snow and Nina Kardec using existing Nonima tracks.

Almost Tomorrow is the third full length collaboration album from Section 27 Netlabel founders Tam Ferrans and Andrew Paterson, under their Nonima & theAudiologist guise. This time around the sound is more melodic, and has a definite feeling of a complete and more mature sound than heard on the previous LP's "Dystopian Battle Hymns" and "Ceremony After Amputation". If you are familiar with their individual projects you may even be in for a slight surprise, as the tracks are not as beat driven like before, but are more atmospheric and sound, well... "bigger". In its 75 minutes, Almost Tomorrow takes you on a trip from the digital rain-soaked cavernous scraping in "Thoughtograph", the ethereal beat jittering of "The Colour of Rain", intercepted transmissions from unknown places in "Com-Intercept", "Ganzfeld"s huge yet strangely insect-like beats until everything you knew comes crashing around you in "Almost Tomorrow". Burning pianos, glitched out soundscapes and intricately programmed beatplay, this may well be their best work to date. Consider it the soundtrack to a rainy overcast day, but with just that glimmer of sunshine peeking from the clouds. "Almost Tomorrow" wears its heart on its sleeve.
