The Tampa Bay Parrot Head Club, along with Parrot Head Clubs from all across the state of Florida, would like you to join us for the First Annual Floridaze Beach Festival. This promises to be a phenomenal event with the cream of the Trop-Rock artists performing throughout the weekend and a major fund raising event for The Save The Manatee Foundation. Many Major Trop Rock Artists, including Jeff Pike of A1A, have all written a song for a major benefit CD for The Save The Manatee Foundation which will be released on Friday, May 16 during festival. Jeff's song "The Steller Songlines" from the new A1A CD "Beachwrecked" was chosen to be included on this CD.
A1A performs Saturday afternoon on the beach from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and Jeff Pike will host the song writers jam inside later that evening at 10:00 PM. For more information go to WWW. FLORIDAZE. ORG

Georgia Singer/Songwriter, Jeff Pike, is best known in the Trop Rock world as the lead singer for "The Official and Original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band", A1A, but besides being there since the inception of the First Parrot Head Club in 1988 , Jeff has performed with Jimmy Buffett himself, many of The Coral Reefer Band, opened for major recording artists, released several original CDs and is co-producer/engineer of the successful Internet Radio Show, "Time After Island Time".
With the Jimmy Buffett National Convention, "Meeting of the Minds" on the horizon, we thought it would be the perfect time to talk with Jeff about the early days of Trop Rock, the evolution of the band A1A, songwriting, and the future of Trop Rock music.

Holy Crap.... this event is like making the perfect margarita... first you add great entertainment, then add fellow parrotheads and wonderful phriends while mixing in a little alcohol, stir in some laughs and garnish it with the memories you walk away with. And there you have the perfect weekend concoction! I can't wait to try it again in '08.
