I RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM HER MOTHER, HOLLY. MEGAN HAD A SEIZURE AT SCHOOL TODAY AND FELL ON THE CONCRETE AND FRACTURED HER SKULL. THERE WAS BLEEDING IN THE BRAIN. WHEN HOLLY EMAILED ME, SHE WAS ON HER WAY TO ST. JOSEPHS HOSPITAL IN TAMPA. SHE SENT IT TO ME BY HER BLACKBERRY.
HOLLY EMAILED ME THIS EVENING WITH AN UPDATE AND MEGAN IS IN PEDIATRIC ICU AND SHE HAS CRACKED HER SKULL. THERE IS BLOOD AROUND IT. THEY ARE KEEP AN EYE ON HER AROUND THE CLOCK AND WILL BE DOING ANOTHER CAT SCAN IN THE AM OR LATER TONIGHT.
FOR ONES OF YOU THAT DO NOT KNOW MEGAN, SHE IS A GREAT BARREL RACER WITH A LOT OF HEART. SHE IS A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL AND HAS ALOT OF GOALS TO ACHIEVE YET. MEGAN WAS IN THE BARREL RACING BUDDIES SECTION OF THE MAGAZINE A COUPLE YEARS AGO AND SHE ALSO APPEARED IN THE VIDEO BROADCAST #2 WITH THE VOLUSIA COUNTY FAIR AT THE BEGINNING OF THE VIDEO WHEN I INTERVIEWED HER THERE AS WELL.

Women Athletes and Entrepreneurs: An Exploratory, Comparative Study On Women Barrel Racers And Women Who Own Their Own Businesses"
Sports athletes are connected to business entrepreneurship due to the relationships of business strategies, psychological, and motivational characteristics according to authoritative research. Barrel racing has become a limitless opportunity for success becoming the second favorite event in the rodeo. However, the barrel-racing cowgirl faces criticisms, perhaps, due to a psychic prison that society continues to live from the lack of knowledge of this type of culture. It is debated this industry is not an efficient entrepreneurship endeavor. However, the woman barrel racer is a sports athlete who participates in her own activity to obtain capital, self-actualization, and achievement. It is further acknowledged she is responsible for her own financial resources to pay for business expenses in order to continue the venture. Cowboys have been studied and confirmed to be entrepreneurs so why would women barrel racers be different? The purpose of this study was to compare and contrast Women Barrel Racers (also referred as World Athlete Entrepreneurs) with Women Business Entrepreneurs and determine if there is an association between women who race and women who have their own businesses. The main areas of concern were business strategies, psychological traits, and motivational characteristics. This study also investigated the Birth Theory and the Only or Eldest Daughter Syndrome. Finally, barriers experienced by World Athlete Entrepreneurs and Women Business Entrepreneurs were analyzed.

About me:
How, When, and Why Florida Equine Athlete started??
The Florida Equine Athlete is a magazine for the barrel racers in the state. It was started in 2004 as part of my
PhD work. The vision for the magazine is not to be just an ordinary horse magazine. It is intended to not only be full of information with barrel racing needs but also, to be educational too.
The dissertation research was an exploratory, comparative study on women athletes and women business entrepreneurs. The barrel racer was used as the target athlete. The ability to communicate the valuable information obtained to fellow barrel racers was needed and therefore, it became an additional factor in the production of the magazine. Articles are written on business strategies that were found while completing my PhD.
It is subscriber based only and now has members outside of Florida such as Kentucky, Indiana, Texas, Georgia,
and S. Carolina. Recently, it has been changed to an online magazine and has had a lot of positive response.
Everyone loves it, especially, since pictures are in color and they are clearer too. So, is the availability to
produce more pages and write more information. In addition, there is no middleman.
The Florida Equine Polebenders Circuit is an additional expansion of the Florida Equine Athlete. This circuit
provides Open Polebending, Youth Polebending, Senior Polebending, and Open Barrels. All events are 3D
with a one second split.
