Photography (scenic and nature are favorites,) astronomy, travel, old movies, nascar, gardening, woodworking, politics

Music
My favorite is classic rock, but I like most music.
Movies
The classics: Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Cary Grant... you know, REAL actors. They are my favorites, but not to the exclusion of all new movies. Every once in awhile Hollywood puts out something good. Harry Potter will actually get me to go to a theater instead of waiting for the DVD to be released.
Television
A lot of educational stuff: history, discovery, national geographic, military, and science channels. The Weather Channel during hurricane season. The NASA channel when there is a mission in progress. Of course the classic movie channels. I also like the friday night lineup of Ghost Whisperer, Monk, Psych, and House (even though House is a re-run that night.)
Books
The Harry Potter books top my list of favorite fiction. I usually pick up the newest book within a couple hours of it going on sale. I also like anything by Robert Ludlum.
Most of my reading these days is non fiction, reading about photography, wildlife, and astronomy.
Heroes
My parents, may they rest in peace;
and
JoAnn, my soulmate who has many medical conditions that cause her a lot of pain and yet she does her best to live a normal life.
About me: My name is Rick and I live on the east coast of central Florida. I'm a native Floridian and live a mile from my childhood home where I am now raising my own family.
I am currently in the process of setting up my own air conditioning business. I have worked in the field for several years and passed the Florida State Contractors exam. Now I just have to find the money to get started.
I am also in the process of setting up several websites. The first one is up at
There you will find my novel entitled Apocalypse Road. I know nothing about finding a publisher or agent and decided I would rather just post it to the web and hope someone comes to me.
I also have a travel photography web site in the works that should be up and running soon. It will not only contain lots of my photos and articles on how to take better pictures, but will also contain a search engine for better travel planning. I'll be posting the link here as soon as it is open for business.
Over the years I have had a number of jobs ranging from fireworks and special effects technician to radio personality and broadcast engineer. Radio used to be a lot of fun but now most stations are corporate owned which takes away a lot of the fun. Too many policies and too many guys in ties. LOL I'd consider going back into radio if I could get a gig like Glenn Beck.
Don't forget to check out my photos here on MySpace as well as my blog. I plan to be a lot more active with MySpace now that I actually have something to talk about. : )
..
Who I'd like to meet: Ben Franklyn and Thomas Jefferson.... but not in a big hurry. There are many people that I would like to meet but its hard to know where to begin the list.
Thanks for supporting our Troops! I appreciate it and I know our Troops appreciate it.
If you would like to help us thank those still serving overseas and help those coming home wounded, please stop by the profile, read the latest blog and do what you can.

I made my first video slideshow and wanted to share it with you. The musician (Elizabeth Ann Middleton) is one I found through MySpace, and she generously let me use her music to set to my images. Visit her MySpace page here - http://www.myspace.com/pianorama - she's fantastic! :-)
It's that time of year where we ask all of you for your support. We are currently working on our 2010 calendars to send to our Troops serving to thank them for their service overseas and we need your help.
Please visit our website (banner/link on my page and below) and myspace page (the top friend) and do what you can. Read about what we do and please make a donation so we can make this happen. Our Troops deserve our thanks! No donation is too small or too large. Your donation is tax dedictible as we are a 501(c)(3) and over 93% of all money we receive goes to thank our Troops and support out wounded.
We are only able to do this every year because of each and everyone of you. I hope we can continue thanking those who give so much!
Please help us out and thank you in advance!
Jerry President, Military Troops Calendar I also run the Help Our Wounded Troops Myspace Page
P.S. Businesses (and individuals) who want their businesses and names printed in the calendar lets me know. We want everyone to know which businesses support our Troops AND you can write it off. Thanks again!
