Coming from the mean streets of East Saint Louis, IL, Flow-Joe's music is the perfect combination of catchy lyrics, mind-blowing stories, and personification of life growing up in the hood. Why this name? Years ago, back in like 1996 I was looking for a rap name for myself. Before this I was a poet and simply went by my own name. I wanted to have a rap name that had "Joe" in it somewhere and started thinking about Flow-Joe once the real "flo-jo" Florence Griffith-Joyner was on the news for something.
