  • Bio

FLOYD & the FLYBOYS is a nine piece* band whose line-up includes vocals/percussion, guitar/vocals, keyboards/vocals, bass/vocals, drums, and a horn section consisting of trumpet, trombone, tenor/alto saxophones, and baritone sax (*the band also occasionally works with a smaller combo, "Rhythm Crewe"). The band's repertoire spans seven decades, and includes a choice mix of classic covers, rare gems, and the clever, well-crafted original songs of Stevie Z. Band member credits include artists such as Ray Charles, Tower of Power, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Lyle Lovett, Brian Setzer, The Eagles, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, The Four Tops, Elvin Bishop, Spencer Davis, The Coasters, Louis Jordan, Brothers Johnson, Chaka Kahn & Rufus, Buddy Miles, The Drifters, Lou Rawls, Buddy Rich, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Don Henley, Narada Michael Walden, and many others. Carrying a 22-year track record, FLOYD & the FLYBOYS has performed at countless night club and concert venues, music festivals, fairs, corporate events, entertainment industry functions, charity benefits, etc., and has written and recorded music for numerous TV and film projects. With an extensive repertoire which includes genres such as classic rock 'n' soul, blues, funk, jump/swing, New Orleans R&B, and more, the band is able to offer a number of different show formats to suit a given audience, venue, or event theme. Seeing FLOYD & the FLYBOYS perform, it's clear the guys' work is a labor of love; judging by the typical audience response, it's obvious the feeling is contagious! .. .. ..
