About me:
Amendment 2 passed in Florida. While this is a huge loss for all fair-minded Floridians, I think it would be a mistake to give up and shut down all the connections and networks we made.

The Campaign has ended- But we can remain active and open as we move forward in our fight in Florida.

And make no mistake; the fight is far from over.

That is why we need to keep these grassroots connections as we figure out how to move forward. Start the discussion here and keep spreading the word. We will need every single one of you and more as we move forward.

We will need to defend the domestic partnerships rights and benefits of everyone!

Thanks again for all the hard work you have done and for sticking with it as we go forward!

Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone interesting in defending the rights of all Floridians.

The "sanctity" of marriage: Gay, Strait, Black, White...

Thank you for sharing this statement from Keith Oberman.
I hope those that need to hear this will watch it!

:

Repost this video and spread some love. Even if it only changes one persons idea on gay rights, then it was well worth the effort.

I know I voted NO on 2 I hope EVERYONE else did as well!!! I think it is crazy the way they are trying to take away EVERY right for gay and Lesbian lifestyle..

My thought is (and I am Christian) is everyone needs to look up in the bible Luke 6:37...

Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven.

OK- a few days to be angry and sad. Now back on that horse. Lots of momentum right now- see Keith Olberman's segment on gay marriage!!!!! There is support out there. I'm planning to put letters on the cars in every Baptist Church lot in my tiny town of bigots here in Marion county...I won't just go away. There are historically proven reasons for the separation of church and state, and people need reminding.

I know elections already passed but I too think there's still a lot to be done.
Do you know of any organization or group, me & my girlfriend can volunteer for?

We did vote on no for Amendment two and my closest friends also voted on our behalf and was outraged that it passed in our state of Florida.

Now what?? I'm just sick over this. Fighting tears and anger and disgust right now. So ironic that Florida is finally Blue in an election and yet...this crap amendment passes. Just sickening.

I voted No on 2.

I do not understand how people can attack love. I hope that one day, there will come a time when all Americans will look back on the thought of banning gay marriage with shame and horror.

It passed, but you know what? It will be struck down by the supreme court (or should be) because of its violation of the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution.

Maybe we should wait to bring this case forward when we have some new Obama appointed judges.

Obama'a win is historic and incredible... but I am saddened that once again, in other ways, bigotry and ignorance won in the state of Florida. Looks like Amendment 2 is in the books.

I'm not positive, but I think amendment 2 passed with 62% support. Now we need to petition for a new amendment to repeal amendment 2.

Nov 7 2008 1:23 AM

After last nights election I find myself disgusted with how many people I live around that truly believe passing amendment 2 was the right thing to do. The show of supporters of the amendment is the perfect demonstration as to the amount of hate for me and others like me there truly is. Yet I do not wish the pain I feel and will feel on to them. They will never know how it feels to hide your life from almost everyone or how it feels knowing that there is hardly any rights to protect you from ignorance that lashes out. They will never know how it feels when the love of their life is dieing in the hospital and they can't even see them to say good bye or even plan their funeral. They will never know how it feels to raise a child and after the relationship ends to never be able to have any contact with that child. Yet all this isn't even the half of the struggles I may face or have already. Still I do and will not wish any of that on them. Even after all the anger and frustration that I am experiencing from their vote last night. I do not wish any malice because unlike them I am better than to sir cum to hate or to believing that GOD would want his chosen to damn others. Unlike them I know times are changing and welcome it with open arms full of love.
