Groan.
I had written all of this out far more eloquently than I'm going to bother here, but for some reason the silly software didn't save it.
In a nutshell:
Myspace is a crock of crap. This is of course obvious to anyone outside of the "service's" target demographic of delusional broadband ennabled fourteen year old misery mongers / socialites / f.o.o.l.s.
As a networking utility it's woefully inadequate / needlessly complicated... The need to navigate back and forth between different users' pages in order to follow a conversation thread... The fact that, once you've started to listen to a song you're unnable to navigate away from its page of residence... not even to open up a blog entry or investigate something else within the same profile... And, most annoyingly of all: the fact that you have to have an account of your own in order to interact in any kind of worthwhile manner with an existing account.
Which brings us conveniently round to this "page's" excuse for existence. Because, in spite of the general ridiculousness of the premise, the reams and reams of silly fools scrabbling to get into each others' "top eight," the shameless plugging left right and centre... in spite of all of this, those nice people at myspace do offer something that our generation's legion of guitar toting no-hopers are only too happy to sell their souls (and a few sneakily embedded publishing royalties) for. Free mp3 hosting.
How Soon ? Sweet Achilles, my band ladies and gentlemen, are more than happy to sell out to the myspack craze if it means they can get some music online for free. But, due to those annoying restrictions mentioned above, I can't actually utilise / interact with the content on the page my guitarist has put together for us unless..... I too join the horde.
So I have joined the horde.
It's a band page because it thereby serves a potential purpose (hosting any future achilles overflow) but the only "music" on here for the forseeable future will be random six string bass guitar noodlage recorded in my bedroom out of boredom. So it should fit in nicely.
The HS?SA stuff sounds good.. I'd comment on t'other myspack but I'm being lazy. Also sitting here wondering how cool your crazy bass track would sound with toms behind it - eg from pete or someone, I'm not going to hack away at your tracks with my keyboard, don't worry ;)
Should I send you a cassette of this song I want you to learn - this MP3 business is just impossible as Denno is always off with he fairies or Arsenal FC...
