Flummi are:
Artemio Tensuan (background vocals, guitars, e-drums)
Gordon Bannier (keyboards, e-drums, programming)
Julian Harms (drums, percussion, laser gun)
FLUMMI was founded by guitarist and actor Artemio Tensuan and keyboarder Gordon Bannier. Later on, drummer, percussionist and laser gun specialist Julian Harms joined the band.
What’s remarkable about this group is that they don’t have a singer.
The vocals are created with a simple software at the computer and are accompanied with live music. That’s how the usual process of singing along a playback gets finally reversed.
The Flummi lyrics are minimalistic: One or two sentences are enough to give a song its concentrated message. With influences of dadaism and gagaism, Flummi is good music seen through humorous glasses.
In spring 2008, FLUMMI released their anthem “S.O.S. Electric Sex” on Major Records. The release includes remixes by the tech-house/minimal house newcomers Technotopic from Hamburg, downbeat and hiphop-veteran Mario v. Hacht, and the retrostyle b-side “Plastic Love”. “Plastic Love” was chosen as a b-side by the MySpace community.
Currently, FLUMMI are working on the album which is scheduled for fall 2008.
