About me:
I love the sound of the Native American Flute and am interested in Native American Sacred Sites. FIRST OF ALL, I am NOT playing the flute. That is NOT me you hear playing. It is artists/musicians of whom I admire very much that are playing. The Native American Flute is a good path to be on !! I pray that the ..famous.. flutists are not offended in me using their music. I simply only want to share with the world. The main purpose of this site are many. First to advertise the beauty of the Native Music. Secondly to educate all people of the Native Sacred Sites which are all over America that need to be respected and NOT descreated. Thirdly to Educate all of the plight of the Native People. Wake up and do something about it. Feel free to listen to the different types of music. I find it fascinating to hear songs in a different language etc.
I am heavily interested in the Sacred Burial sites of California. California was very heavily populated with Native Americans and we have a rich Native culture. So therefore, we have MANY Sacred sites and many were already DESTROYED. I find myself fascinated and am now dedicating my life to save the Native Sacred sites of California. Not very many people know the struggle we have saving our Native Sites here in California. Most of the tribes here in California are NOT Federally recognized so therefore they ignore the Sacred Sites. The Glen Cove site here in Vallejo managed to stop the building of more condominums, but for how long can they hold GVRD (Greater Vallejo Recreational District) off? They want to build a parking lot on the Sacred Sites and desecreate them even more. It is a long struggle. Please visit Vallejo Intertribal Council Web site for more information.

My passion for the Native flute goes hand in hand with what I am doing now. I end up playing my flute in Native ceremonies and I find myself also heavily involved with the Native American Flute Circles (INAFA)........a great bunch of people. My interests are many.
Which brings me to the tiny country of Israel....of which I love that country and I have no idea why. Why Israel? I just visited Israel and I fell in love with Jerusalem.... do not ask me why.......I do not know why...I simply liked it there. I actually think I could live there !!! Thus this brings me to have the desire to read the Bible from Genesis on through to Revelations. I am a follower of the philosopy of Jesus Christ. I play my flute for the Creator.
I just started to play the flute after hearing Mary Youngblood perform. My favorite Native American Artists are Mary Youngblood, Lawrence Laughing, Robert Mirabal, Joanne Shenandoah, Rita Coolidge and I have great respect for R. Carlos Nakai. There is something mystical, spiritual and comforting about the sound of the Native American Flute. The sound that comes from it is soothing and calming like a brook or river stream or the smell of the pine trees in the forests or the presence of any kind of wild, beautiful and free animal. To date I have 15 flutes ranging from the key of A to the Key of G and each has a special voice. Playing it is an honor and a privilege. As time passes by..... each day I feel my flute path is the right path. I mostly play Native American music and I play NOT for entertainment. You will not hear me play Amazing Grace or Home Home on the Range on a Native Flute. I believe as the Hopi Nation believe....in the healing qualities it has within its tonal range. Yes, I believe as the Hopi Nation believe..........the flute heals.
I love to play the flute and tell flute stories or legends. If you have any legends to share.......please email me.
I recently am honored to become one of the students of Mary Youngblood and I have had the privilege to meet Joanne Shenandoah and R. Carlos Nakai this year.
My past passions were listening to Opera, attending the Ballet and listening to Renaissance and/or Celtic Music. Bryn Terfel is my favorite baritone, Andrea Bocelli, the late Luciano Pavoratti and Pacido Domingo are my favorite tenors. Cecelia Bartoli is my favorite alto soprano. If I am in my opera or Italian mood, I will listen to Andrea Bocelli or Maestro Pavoratti.
Here is my other passion. I am a supporter !!!
Who I would like to meet? I am interested in meeting people that are interested in Native American Flutes or Native Americans Sacred Sites. I would like to discuss how we can preserve the Sacred Sites of the ancestors of this land of America and to pass some kind of law here in California that whenever a HOME owner or BUSINESS buys land here in Solano County, they would have an archaeological company test the land for midon or possible burials. Then if it is determined as a burial then they CANNOT buy the land under any circumstances. Only makes sense. Then the ancestors won't be disturbed and we won't see the ancestors in cardboard boxes in University basements (Berkeley U). I also feel that if a land is already purchased by a corporation and they find burials in that land...they have to take the ancestors out in a respectful way and find land close to where they were found and then they can be reburied. This should be done with an MLD present at all times. I feel this is the next best thing if the tribes cannot buy the land back from corporations. This only makes sense. Sometimes compromise is needed and then if this is not good enough, then we should put other laws in place.
I am single and female. I am just a free spirit that actually likes being single. I am a portrait artist but have not done a show yet. The Nez Perce Warrior is one of my paintings and three are on my slide show. I am still working on doing an art show. I feel my path is to paint the Sacred Burial Sites and to paint what was before.
And by the way, REMEMBER, I am NOT the one playing the flute on the song you hear now. It is Shaw, Martinez, Okano (Bamboo, Cedar and Oak) who do the Travellers Song. The second song is played by Robert Mirabal - Onate. Third song is Mary Youngblood - Long Long Road. Forth song is sung by Joanne Shenandoah. I will switch them from time to time for variety. You can listen to any song that is listed on the upper right hand corner of this screen. Simply click on the song you want to hear. You can control the volume and you can stop and start it again. I also have another music list that you can listen and enjoy. Listen to the music of my many friends especially Timo and the White Buffalo and the other native brothers and sisters. Enjoy !!
