ON THE WAY INSIDE by FLUTTER LYON & LUKASZ KARLUK
A special audio visual collaboration between performer Flutter Lyon and video artist Lukasz Karluk. Filmed at Black & Blue Gallery, Sydney Australia.
Flutter Lyon creates lyrically emotive, visually luscious audio visual moments.
A uniquely engaging live musician, Lyon plays improvised sets that employ vocals, electric guitar and effects to create stunning, unexpected performances. Having recently returned from a New York City tour in August 2009, Lyon will play an audio visual tour in Sydney and Melbourne this coming Summer 2009/10.
Often collaborating with other highly progressive musicians and video artists, her practice is currently focused on a collaboration with interactive video artist Lukasz Karluk, titled LIGHT CHASM. Karluk has developed an audio interactive projection piece that evolves and changes as Flutter plays live, as well as interactions with the imagery live by Karluk
via a specially designed iPhone application. An installation of bound and layered drumskins become the projection surface for the performance, a visual rhythm of light and imagery dancing as she plays.

In May 2009, Flutter Lyon appeared in the sell-out audio visual collaboration Forever the Motion, which also featured striking solo artist Kirin J Callinan, international new media and video artist Jordana Maisie, experimental guitarist Jack Dibben of avant garde group Nhomea and sound designer Anthony Garvin of remix duo Dept. and Studios 301.

Robyn Wilson is a dynamic creative director working across projects incorporating live sound and video works, illustration, costuming and set design. She has directed a plethora of projects for her own View of Courage Studios plus
Ministry of Sound, fashion designer Wayne Cooper, Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, Studios 301, Nokia, Anode Festival and City of Sydney Art & About Festival, Oxford Art Factory and Don’t Panic Magazine.
Her work has been shown at Black & Blue Gallery, China Heights Gallery, NG Art Gallery and Global Gallery in Sydney.
Robyn Wilson was nominated for Best Visual Artist in the 2008 Sydney Music, Art and Culture Awards.
