Fly Folk Music and it's artists draw on influences from everywhere.
Most of the music is sample based, easy listening Hip Hop/Trip Hop.
The very definition of Folk Music is, Music that is handed down form generation to generation. In other words sampled music...
RJD2, Aim, Dj Shadow, Mad Lib, Lord Quas....The Fly Folk Music sound is Organic, home brewed Hip Hop. Folk Hop keeps that raw sampled sound just left of the centre of the main stream UK Hip Hop crews. Mistakes intentional and a dirty sound essential. Tombee and Fly Folk Music strive to combine warmth, emotion and soul with super fly beats and lots of turntable trickery.
Fly Folk Music is a small, indipendant, record label started by Tombee, A Dj and producer with over 14 years experience in the music industry. He has worked for various labels and managed various recording studios before finally embarking on his child hood dream.
With releases on various labels, but un-able to find a permanent home, Tombee set about starting his own label that would cater for his unusual taste and sound, and any other artists who's music failed to sit neatly in someonbe elses pigeon hole.

La Barajadura - Tom Eno (Jack To Phono)
This, the tenth vinyl release on Jack to Phono, has a decidedly balearic feel whilst being something that you could imagine Quantic producing. Using a Classical Spanish Jazz guitar blend and inspiration from the likes of the classic jazz masters such as Charlie Byrd and Django Reinheardt alongside classical guitarists such as Sergovia and Villa Lobos, Tom creates his own rather distinctive style.
La Barajadura means in this case "the shuffle" and we think that on hearing this track it will have the desired effect! On the flip we team up once more with the funkiest man down under... Rephrase. Fresh from his remixes and releases on the rather fine Knowfoowl label, his wonky re-working of La Barajadura will turn up the shuffle. It has won support from Rob Da Bank, Diesler, Dom Servini, Found sounds and Bocca 45.
