Miss Roberts - vocals, occasional drunken harmonica. Controversial visionary, eccentric, and collector of small insignificant objects.
Lynda Beast - on violin, cornet, saw & other things. A somewhat enigmatic figure....
Guy Avern - bass, keyboards - Once played the bass with a plastic fish and on a separate occasion sat on a swivel chair with a yellow paper cone to his mouth shouting whilst spinning round very quickly. He doesn't know how wide he is but he still vibrates to music which makes him feel quite good.
Cos - guitar, bass, synth, backing vocals - spent several years at sea before going into music full time. Loves doing anything that makes him the centre of attention, including improv and standing in a room full of people talking at them - also farts about with video-art, installation and sound-design for dance and theatre - which is as pretentious as it sounds, but probably more fun - if you follow
Kittykat - oboe, keyboard, vocals, etc - Bye for now - will return as a guest artist - "thanks for the hard work, especially on Glass Eye" (cos)
Tommy G says: "I am a drummer... Sort of". We think he's rather good actually, but more than this we've been unable to get out of him...
A Pan-dimensional Creature manifesting itself in your reality as an Absurd Rock Band consisting of Miss Roberts and her symbiotic slaves. Post Punk Alt Funk Art Rock...maybe? Dancing, lessons in Toe Sucking, body fluid meditation and other complimentry therapies included. Come, come now to my dark dark dark dark pit of...darkness, and wallow in your decadent moistness....
Here are some great pics of the Rivington Gig, just click the photo:
MC Rebbe - The Rapping Rabbi says:
"...my latest discovery, Miss Roberts & The Rude Mechanicals, a head on collision between James Brown, The Cramps & Japanese Noh Theatre, that had everyone on the dance floor."..
...Le McFadden in the Morning Star says:
"...(the Rude Mechanicals) play with a commitment and ability that results in favourable comparisons to their admitted influences Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart.
The Rude Mechanicals' live set simultaneously leaves new converts petrified, quizzical, musically refreshed and convulsed at the bizarre outrageousness of it all..."
Club Integral @ Whitechapel Gallery, 18th December 2009.

Lotus Pedals: - "Gorgeous live music from the supremely strange Lotus Pedals, who remained on stage throughout the show...shambolic, bold and beautiful...offers truly unique rewards." Beccy Smith - British Theatre Guide.
