Important info about "friends" and "adds", comments and
emails ...
I enjoy surfing this neat place and inviting other creative thinkers to join my "friends" list. So I am pleased to say my friends list is something of a treasure trove. Come browse here anytime you are bored or in need of inspiration. You will find some great artists and musicians and writers.
Being the friendly sort and an ardent supporter of free speech, I will accept most add requests even if the sensibilities and opinions expressed on those pages are not in sync with my own. So there may be some surprises in my friends list as well. The
two exceptions to my lenient friends policy would be if I find your page to be patently offensive. I am not easily offended, so that would be a rare case.
Or if you are just trying to sell crap or trick people into clicking links.
I love to read your comments and appreciate the fun stuff you have shared in my comments section.
Thank you! Unfortunately, some folks have had trouble loading my page because of all the code-heavy stuff posted in my comments section.
And I recently discovered code in a comment that caused my entire profile to
display all screwy. In order to keep my page relatively fast loading and somewhat manageable in length, I have decided to limit comments to regular text (no html) and to delete comments after 7 days. I hope that does not upset anyone. This time frame applies only to comments on my profile page. I will leave blog comments and pic comments up indefinitely. And you can still put html in your comments for pics and blog pages.
I am trying desperately to scale my life back
a bit so that I have the energy to care for my health and feed my spirit.
In order to make time for nature and quiet, I must spend less time sitting on my rump in front of the computer.
Sadly, that means I cannot promise a response to all of the emails and comments
that I receive. I am VERY sorry for this. Hopefully, the day will
come when I can hire staff to help me with my work and then I will have the time
to play on here more. And to be a better friend. But for now, I must
admit my limitations. I thank you all for your emails and comments.
I read them all and appreciate each and every word. I will respond to as
many as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

My name is Melissa Robinson and I paint
pictures. Sometimes I draw. My whole world is art. Even the
stuff that is not art, for me, it is art. Just a big emotional soup of
light and colors, lines and shapes. Poetry. Music. It is all
the same. Stories unfolding. God's wild magic. I live for
moments of pure color. Hope and faith and all that. But I know
plenty of darkness, too. Addiction, loss, emptiness, fear. All the
stuff that adds up to a life.
You find me now
in a time of Power. With a big P. Earlier, there were times of loss,
humility, fear, vulnerability, happiness, learning, and boundaries. But
now is a time of Power.
Power is a lonely pursuit, but necessary if
you want to create much of anything. Knowing yourself as a source of
action, not just a thing to be acted upon. Knowing yourself as a source.
Accepting the challenges handed to all living things. And standing up
strong! Scary stuff. I am ready, though! Finally. I am
learning to use my Power.
What period are you moving through? What
time are you in? Where do you invest your energy? I would like to
know. Maybe we can help each other. I am not much of a team player.
(Teams scare me!) But I think connections help. I am open to
connections.
To be powerful, you need resources. I am not so good with resources.
So that is where I need help these days. Do you have any ideas about how I
might make money from my art? I used to run from money. But that was
back when I needed to learn other lessons. Now I need to get strong and
make Powerful art and that takes resources. So I am dreaming of
prosperity. And I am open to any help you might lend.
Please stop by
SimpleTermsArt.com to learn more about my
work. If you would like to email me, please do so through my site.
I do not check email here since it is mostly junk.
Who I'd like to meet:
Hopeful people, helpful people, people who believe.
I was going to go camping over the weekend, but this is definitely NOT camping weather. So me and some friends went to check out Dueling Pianos. Those guys are amazing - they can play just about any song that's been on the radio between 1950 and 2005.
Speaking of music, I wanted to let you know about a show we have @ Station 4 on Friday, October 16th. We are debuting a project called Sonic Transformations. It is a series of audio-visual performance pieces. The first one is called "AN OBJECT TO CRAVE". It features live music and visuals based on a short story about life, love, loss, fantasy, obsession and death.
Another group of mine, The Magnetrons, which plays an exciting and innovative Livetronica set (i.e. STS9, Disco Biscuits, The Histronic) will also be playing. The night will be full of creative, interesting, high-energy music, good drinks and good times.
Here's the info:

Most people achieved their greatest success one step beyond what looked like their greatest failure. - Brian Tracy
Today go the extra mile; you owe it to yourself and to your dreams to just stretch yourself a little further. You are so close, closer than you could ever possibly imagine. Go within and tune into your higher self see it, feel it, smell it, and taste it, now step up and claim what is rightly yours! Never Ever Give Up!
Welcome to my circle of friends :-) I look forward to getting to know you. Have a lovely week ahead my new friend Walk and touch peace every moment. Walk and touch happiness every moment. Each step brings a fresh breeze. Each step makes a flower bloom. Kiss the Earth with your feet. Bring the Earth your love and happiness. The Earth will be safe when we feel safe in ourselves. ~Thich Nhat Hanh

I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a link to the video for a new tune called Run Bobby Run:

Thank you so much for your kind comment. Your art work is not only beautiful it is profoundly archetypal. Sparse in image in one sense but completely full and lush in another sense. Just beautiful!
