Francesco Mennillo
, borne in Naples, Italy and raised in Basel Switzerland, was already involved in the Swiss underground techno-scene
in the early 80s, when the electronic music arrived from all around this
little country, such as the Netherlands, Italy and Germany.
At the age of 16 he started his career as a Dj In a night-club called “BELAMI”, the club nr.1 in the Basel Gay-scene. Famous for his dark and accelerate set’s,
he fast became one of the most popular DJ in the city. After 2 years as resident Dj in the most underground techno club “ETC”, being also present in many big techno events (illegal raves at the time) organized by different promoters
all over Switzerland, he decided to go out internationally.
And so he moved in the year 1992 to the Caribbean, on the island of good life, the Dominican Republic.
Together with DJ..s like DJ Ludwig aka Froggy and DJ Nan..d, with who he founded the Radiostation “95.5 Cabarete FM”, among others, he started to bring over these new endless beats, with lots of success.
In 1999 he founded together
with Dj Phil from Canada the event production-company called “TECHNOCIRCUS”.
In 2002 he moved to Montréal (Canada) where he spend 1 year.
Working for “Terminal Records”, was the beginning of his transition getting more
involved into the minimal techno scene.
2003 back in Europe, he first spend 2 years in Madrid where he played as resident Dj in the techno underground “YASTA CLUB”. Now his residency is in Barcelona.
2007 is the birth-year of LEICHTklang recordings which he foundet together with Josh Ayala from Dominican Republic. His first release INSPIRA Ep camed out at beginning of 2008 on Release number Lkl_003 and next releases are coming soon.
His Music-style goes from Minimal to Detroit-techno.
my latest 12" vinyl is out now. Digital release to be expected in december.
