The Freak Mountain Ramblers present a unique blend of Rock 'n Roll, Bluegrass, Alternative Country, and Country Blues. With a lineup including 3 members of the inimitable and notorious Holy Modal Rounders/ Clamtones amalgamation of the '70s and '80s, FMR has its roots in the underbelly of the alternative music scene that existed at that time both in Portland and across the country.
During the past 7 years the Freaks have accumulated a loyal following in the Portland area by dependably creating beauty and bedlam at their live shows, and by producing four CDs that successfully translate that energy and excitement to disk. Unlike any other band in the Pacific Northwest, FMR presents a show where the spotlight rotates among 5 lead singer/songwriters, each with his own distinct character and approach to life and music. The 6th member is a veteran drummer with his own tale to tell, and even an occasional song to sing.

Other than that, yep - shoot, I reckon! Carry on, lads, carry on (and pick you up a copy of this new 3-cd Unreleased Recordings of Hank Williams - it's a right barn BURNER and that's for certain)!
Hey friends, if you haven't gotten your copy of St. Jeffrey's Day: the Songs of Jeffrey Frederick, Volume I you're really missing out on something great. Dave produced it, the Freaks are all over it, as is Michael Hurley, Robin Remaily, Teddy Deane, Lewi, the Piano Throwers, Lynn Conover and Little Sue, Billy Kennedy, Jake Ray (Jeff's son) and even Jill Gross, Jeff's old singing partner. Lex starts it all off with "Can't Quit You" (you can find a video clip below of Jeff doing it with young Lex on guitar) Get it at Church, from www. jeffreyfrederick. com or wherever fine tunes are sold. It goes great with Flxible, which you also need.
