FAR EAST MOVEMENT BIO:
Always on the move and two steps ahead of the game, FM (also known as Far*East Movement) consistently bring crowds something new, innovative, eclectic, and exactly what they're looking for. Emcees Kev Nish, Prohgress, and J-Splif first collaborated as three childhood friends through a shared dedication and passion for music. As they began to refine their skills and develop a following, the group received significant recognition in the Los Angeles underground scene through their energetic live shows and strong Internet presence. FM recently added another wave to the movement, as world renowned DJ Virman from POWER 106 (the highest rated radio station in Los Angeles) joined the group as a permanent member. DJ Virman's veteran leadership and musical contributions have made FM even stronger and more tight-knitted.
Forming Catch Music Group with manager Carl Choi in 2004, FM has developed into a rising force and is destined for World recognition. The group has accomplished achievements on an independent level that some major label groups could only dream to attain. FM has completed 2 World Tours (which included stops in the United States, Europe, South America, Canada, and Asia), signed distribution deals in Japan and Korea (Avex network and JF Productions respectively), garnered multiple features on MTV World, and also featured music on worldwide media such as "CSI", "The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift", and "Finishing the Game" (a featured film at Sundance 2007). FM also carries the privilege of being the first Asian act ever to perform at the Sundance Film Festival's prestigious Music Café Gala, hosted by ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers).
Currently, FM is working on their sophomore album titled "ANIMAL", slated for a 2008 release in the late Fall. ANIMAL includes guest appearances by platinum selling artist Baby Bash, Lil Rob, up and coming Warner Brothers artist Wiz Khalifa, and guest production from the Stereotypes (producers for Danity Kane's smash hit "Damaged"). The first single from this album, "Lowridin," has already claimed the mantle of 1 song on radio stations nationwide. While working on ANIMAL and keeping up with a rigorous tour schedule, FM was the Asian American spokespeople for McDonalds Lost Ring Promotion for the 2008 Olympics and also participated in the McDonald's Big Mac Chant Promotion as celebrity judges along with artist Christina Milian and EMI Music Productions' Vice President. Keith D'Arcy. The group also collaborated with Wong Fu Productions (Cannes Film Festival) and Quest Dance Crew (from FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance") and Shuttershades (Kanye West) for a worldwide 2008 summer release of their music video, "Dance Like Michael Jackson" and is the new face for Shuttershades fresh off of Kanye West's Glow In The Dark Tour releasing at Far-east Movement Edition Shuttershades 2.0.
Apart from their music, the boys have a deep-rooted fervor for the unity and growth of their surrounding community. The group members are co-founders of "Movementality," an annual concert that reaches out to the public and raises funds for drug rehabilitation centers in Koreatown and the greater Los Angeles. FM is currently involved in 4C the Power, an educational program that connects youth to their culture, community and career through arts and entertainment. They also donate their time in supporting Opera California, an after-school youth choir program that encourages children to use their time and talents creatively. FM will also be organizing and hosting the First Annual "International Secret Agents" Showcase in the Fall of 2008. The ISA event's focus is to inspire the artistic spirit of Southern Californian youth through film, music and art.
"Recalling the pretty trills of Cee-Lo's Gnarls Barkley recordings and the deeply infectious L.A. grooves of the Black Eyed Peas, burgeoning hit "Round Round" is a tune these up-and-comers are wise to run with. The Asian-American trio practically has "Next Big Thing" stamped on their foreheads".

“A Far East Movement… FM has created a style and sound that is unmatched by any performer on the scene today. They achieve the ultimate blend of hip hop flavor and soul with their original beats and lyrics that touch audiences on a personal level and entertain them on a social one. Their vibe and approach to their music are downright fun as well as inspiring.
What I love about FM is their originality. FM’s music, with every track, has its own identity which sets them apart from other musicians. Far too often I hear the same music blends within an artist’s narrow range, but FM has just that… range, to take their music to another level, that I find as entertaining as a fan.
The guys of FM are the most authentic, passionate and talented, as well as all around fun guys, that I have met. It comes to no surprise, that when I listen to their songs, they share these same qualities of themselves within their music. It is no wonder that their vibe, beats, lyrics... music are so cool. They are the epitome hip hop class, while achieving the essence of soul within their music and themselves.
FM’s talents and music transcend far beyond Asian America but tap into the domestic mainstream, hitting international levels and beyond… They truly are a movement.”
--- Actor/Producer - Brian Tee (The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift, Austin Powers: Goldmember, We Were Soldiers, The Wedding Palace)
