Bio
FM (Mike) Watson .... For the past three decades, FM Watson has been a significant contributor to San Diego's live music scene. Acting as a composer, guitar player, collaborator and mentor, he has assembled an impressive collection of original compositions as well as other audio constructions. .... FM co-founded and was guitarist/creative collaborator for a number of San Diego bands including Daddylongleggs, Schmaltz, Universal Djinns, Well-Hung Action Figures, ICOF and Wahbah. He also was a member of the bands, T- Irie Dread and Superunloader. .... His primary focus has been on the Rock-oriented world of live bands, and while his commitment to Rock music continues with the current resurrection of his band from the mid-90s, Schmaltz, he has found opportunities to expand his musical talent in other genres. Polyphony (acoustic guitar duet with Todd Pyke), and Neil & Bob (acoustic guitar duet with Jimmy Lewis) allowed him to share his talent with an entirely different audience. .... FM also became fascinated with the use of fretless guitars over twenty years ago. This portamento preoccupation led him to yet another venue to demonstrate his versatile skills. On several occasions, his fretless guitar playing has given him the edge needed to distinguish himself as a standout player. His masterful use of the instrument has won him top prize in numerous guitar competitions, and even inspired many fellow guitarists to pull the frets out of their own guitars in an attempt to demystify his “other-worldly” technique. .... He has also worked as a recording musician for many artists and projects. Fun Size (a music & comedy skit project with Doubletime Studio’s Jeff Forrest), and Chart Cropper (an electronic music programming/recording project with Jens Feil) are among the many studio collaborations in which FM has shared an essential role. Within this capacity, he has gained experience in recording real instruments, programming for virtual instruments and sampled sounds via MIDI, as well as the cohesive mixing of the two. .... His diverse and impressive collection of work is the product of a lifetime love affair with music. FM has finely honed his composition and recording skills to allow him to now turn his attention towards the creation of music for visual accompaniment. .... Not only does he possess a large body of original source material, but FM is also able to create custom works ‘to order’ within more conventional styles allowing him to provide music for visual accompaniment, themes, sound-scapes and samples, field recorded sounds, and sound library resources. He offers professional-quality, stylized musical works with a less conventional sound for film makers, game and web designers, animators, etc. .... FM’s love of music has taken him on an incredible journey. With almost 30 years of experience and unparalleled diversity in the music industry, he has the ability to successfully meet the requirements of any media with absolute reliability. .... Check out ..AUDIO ORNAMENTS,.. ..CELLULOID BRIDGES.. and ..TEMPORAL TINSEL TIME.. for more of Mike's audio examples. .. .. Also peruse ..INVERTIGO.. for Fretless Guitar works, and ..SCHMALTZ.. for fun fat renderings. .. -

Yeah...I noticed when I was reading your past musical influences, that you forgot to add me on to that list...which brings me to your list of current musical influences...yeah, you missed me on that one as well...which brings me to your personal influences...yeah, you missed jotting my name down there also.
