About me:

Hey all... the name is Mike, Mikey, Michael... whatever.

My main obsession in life (besides Björk) is Iceland and everything having to do with the country. My main goal in life is to move there someday. My other obsession is linguistics. I think the most amazing thing in the world would be the ability to travel anywhere and be able to interact with the people there. I've studied a handful of languages, but am currently focusing on Icelandic (of course).

I know all people say this, and it's terribly cliché, but I really can't live without music. If I go any period of time without it I get extremely anxious and irritable. As far as musical taste goes, I'm generally drawn to electronic music and female songwriters. Along with music, I have a deep appreciation for film, especially of the foreign variety. My absolute favorites are Chinese wuxia and Japanese horror films.

I'm currently unemployed, thanks in part to the fact that I live in the middle of nowhere and don't have a car. However, I hold out hope that things will work out. In my plentiful spare time I tend to surf the internet (Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, MySpace, Lookbook.nu), do genealogical research, and play the occasional video game. I'm also working on a music project under the name Deadly Jealous.

As far as a personal life goes, I try to keep it relatively private. Who I'm with and what we do isn't of any concern to anyone else besides myself and those who are closest to me. So, all you need to know right now is that I have a cat named Romy, who is totally dependant on me, has taught me patience, and has become my best friend. =P

Anyway, I guess you probably think, by that somewhat short and limited view on my life, that I'm wuite boring and really of no interest... and you'd probably be right. However, the fact is that I simply don't know what people want to know. So, I guess the best way to learn more is just to ask me. I love making new friends, and will accept pretty much any friend request (as long as you actually talk to me and aren't an old pervert).
