I am interested in music since I can think!
As a little boy (hard to imagine...) i was conducting in front of the radio to any type of music
and at the age of six i started to play recorder.
I wanted to play guitar since this time but i had to learn accordion first, HORROR!!!
At the age of fourteen i got my first acoustic guitar and i had a wonderful
teacher. I am feeding on this lessons up to now, thanx charlie!
One year later i got my first electric guitar, ibanez what else, and played the whole day through.
I was interested in bands like black sabbath and deep purple and jammed to their music.
1979 was the first time i heard of frank marino, this guy blew me away and i studied frank's style in detail.
Later i had to work hard not to sound like him and have my own style.
In 1980 i formed my first group with the "outstanding" name U8.
We recorded two albums and had a hit single,
"fantasy for dreamers" in the austrian charts.
Around this time I studied classical guitar for 5 years at the university mozarteum in salzburg.
After the end of U8 i formed the band BIG HEAT, later known as STIGMATA and STYGMA IV.
With STYGMA IV i toured all over europe with bands like virgin steel, blind guardian and stratovarius.
For me the highlight in my career up to now was to play on the main stage at the wacken open air 2001.
We released 10 albums and after a headliner tour through germany 2005 we had to close the chapter STYGMA IV.
2006 i formed the band FLOOD OF AGES.
We recorded 2 demos but 2008 i decided to stop this project.

CRIMSON CULT is now the brandnew band around me and former STYGMA IV bassplayer Alex Hilzensauer.
After the split of STYGMA IV 2 years ago,
Alex and me always stayed in close contact
and never lost the joy of playing music together.
With Peter Bachmayer and Walter Stuefer
we now found the right musicians
for bringing our musical ideas to the point.
From stygmaesque powermetal to highspeedparts
and doomparts as well
CRIMSON CULT reflects the preferred music of me and Alex.
For the fact that Peter Bachmayer
is one of the best drummers around with no technical limitations,
it's easy to write the right metalsongs.
Walter Stuefer completed the band with his outstanding metalvoice and a lot of liveexperience.
Within the first 3 weeks of the existence of CRIMSON CULT,
the band wrote ten new songs which were recorded during autumn 2008.
In January 2009 the label Dockyard1 signes the band and will release the new CD worldwide during spring.
I am playing ibanez guitars for the last 15 years and actually i am using 2 ibanez voyager,
a sansamp preamp, a t.c. electronic g-major multieffect
and a marshall poweramp with 2 marshall 1960 cabs.
On the floor i have a sure wireless system,
a morley bad horsie wah and an old ibanez tubescreamer.
hey! we are trying to change something... our new singer erik can't be a full member of dreamscape because the stess to travel a lot is affecting his health. so we decided to work with more than one singer - honestly we will work with even more than two... hopefully you will like that idea! we like it a lot because we will be very flexible and our sound will become even more complex! kind regards!
