I've decided to start something new called Photo of the Month. So what it is, is I choose a photo from any sessions I may have had that month. I choose one that I would consider one of my absolute favorite shots that I have taken that month. Which is all to often not all that easy... Enjoy!

I've recently discovered I have a strong passion for Newborn Hospital shoots. I have done a couple for friends but my most recent one I did for a friend of mine is what really got my attention. Think about it, have you seen the pictures the hospital takes for you? They are done quickly and not much work really put into it. In my opinion they often look like mug shots. They are horrible! You don't want your babies first photographs that you are going to hand out to family and friends to look like that. You want something more personalized and geared towards your baby. That being said I am trying to offer this service to other new and expectant parents.

My Grandma is my true hero, she went through a lot in her life. No matter how hard things got she stayed true to who she was and what she believed in. She always stood behind me and believed in me and I could not have asked for a better grandma.
My husband and kids... they always push me to do better and be better than I am.
A couple of teachers & guidance councilor from High School who went the extra mile for me and stood behind me.
About me: A little bit about me.
I am Nicole and I'm married to my best friend John. We have 2 daughters one being 4 and a half soon be 5 and to start kindergarden. Our other daughter is 3 and a half. I am a Stay at Home Mom and Photographer. My first passion is my family and my second passion is photography. I truly love being behind the camera and capturing life at that moment in time. I someday want to specialize in newborn, pregnancy and baby photography as that is where my true passion lies.
How did I get into Photography?
I got into photography after the birth of our second daughter.
When we had our first daughter I didn't pick up the camera much I was afraid I might break it or something silly like that. But my husband was working part time so he was there to capture the moments. But when our second daughter was born he was working full time so someone had to capture those memories. I have not put the camera down since (so to speak).
I truly have a love and passion for photography. I love being able to capture special moments in time, photograph memories that can cherished forever. I feel so energized when behind the camera.

My husband often assists me with photo sessions with lighting and anything else I might need.
I believe that is possible to give quality service and printing without charging an arm and a leg for it. So I try to keep my prices reasonable.
My shooting style
Is to work with you and take any time needed to capture the perfect photograph. I try to keep things very relaxed and fun. If working with a newborn, baby or toddler I will often take breaks when needed to keep the little ones happy. I have two of my own so I know how it is sometimes. And often when you want them to corporate is when they do not.

All shoots are done mainly on location however I can work from my home if needed.

Hey! Thanks for the shoot today... I would like to come over again sometime and do a shoot of the girls... I really want to build a portfolio but I will have to wait a while to that since I don't have the place or the lights yet...

Thanks for the pic comments and the CC. I'm always having trouble with my white balance :( I only have one light right now because the other needs a bulb and this one's bulb is yellowing as well. I hate continuous lights and I can't wait until I can get some strobes...though that is years away :P
