Foe Pa’s mission is to bring a new and highly-entertaining fusion of sketch comedy and story-telling to stage and screen. Using a unique blend of characters, gags, and intellectual humor, Foe Pa creates narrative shows made up of tightly-written, stand alone sketches that are then woven together around a core narrative. This “Sketch Theater” is equally adaptable to the stage or screen and spans the range from potty-humor to highly-charged satire and reaches out to a broad-spectrum audience.
FOE PA. SKETCH THEATER.
We write characters and sketches so that they can all fit together into a bigger story.
It’s not just setup, joke, punch-line, setup, joke, punch-line like a lot of sketch comedy. Every show we do has a through-line. Sure, the sketches can stand all on their own, and they’re really smart and funny by themselves, but when they’re all brought together; well, that’s when it gets to be something really unique.
The live Foe Pa show has sold out all of its performances to date and the online sketches have drawn huge response. Recurring characters and story lines feed the souls of the loyal Foe Pa fans and the golden rule of a completely new show every time keeps them coming back to see what we’ve come up with and who might pop in to make them laugh.
Foe Pa was created in late 2005 by Zena Leigh. Foe Pa’s ensemble writes the show, does the marketing and acts with gusto in the fabularity we create each month. A rotating roster of theater and film directors round out the group and guest performers supplement the cast in live and filmed bits.
Thank you for reading about Foe Pa. Come see what we’re talking about.

Foe Pa (n.) Original sketch comedy. We are about bringing original funny business to you on a regular basis. There's sketch, there's improv, there is musical comedy and lots of love. Love for you, our amazing audience and love for comedy. Check out or videos and live shows to see why. :)
SHAWN MACAULAY grew up on a farm in Minnesota. His “home town” had 308 people. Total. That number may actually include a few cats. After escaping, he got a degree in Chemistry and theater at St. Olaf college (no, all of you Golden Girls fans, not that St. Olaf) and moved to Seattle where he co-founded the theatre company Theatre Paradox. Shawn recently returned from an appearance in the Edinburgh international fringe theater festival. Most recently, he appeared in the U.S. premier of Abi Morgan’s award winning play, Tender.
ZENA LEIGH has been performing sketch comedy and improv since she was a child in Reno, NV. She worked as a model for two years in San Francisco before moving to Los Angeles to work as an actor. Her TV credits include "ER", "The West Wing" and "Alias" and she can be seen in films including "The Last Bad Neighborhood" and "I Am Stamos". Zena graduated from USC's School of Theater and Second City LA's Conservatory program. She created the comedy group Foe Pa in late 2005 and plans to continue speaking of herself in the third person for the foreseeable future.
CINDY JENKINS has returned to directing after 4 years of working at
excellent theaters around L.A. as an AEA Stage Manager (as Cindy
Fulchino). She had the honor of stage managing Sir Ian McKellen's A
NIGHT OUT IN L.A., presented at UCLA Live. Recent directing includes:
ASSASSINS (April/May 2007) with Sight Unseen, FOE PA:EPISODE 6, VOICES
FROM CHORNOBYL & PHILOKTETES at the Open Fist Theatre. She is currently the Dramaturge for VENICE: the Musical by G.F. Mlely. She graduated from NYU with a BFA in Drama Direction and directed many new works there. Cindy is a proud member of Syzygy Theatre Group (www.syzygytheatre.org), for whom she recently
produced the hit TENDER (Critic's Choice, L.A. Times), and she is thrilled to put her storytelling skills to work as Creative Director of Foe Pa.
COREY BLAKE is the skinny goofball of Foe Pa. He joined the group following a memorable stint with the Los Angeles branch of the long-celebrated 3rd Floor sketch comedy group. Also seen in the award-winning short film Hattie Needs Rehab and the pilot for the children's show "Imagination Station", as well as on stage in an award-winning Los Angeles production of Chekov's Three Sisters and Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream, Corey adds a quirky likability to his characters. He is skilled at broad physicality and unexpected vocalizations. These attributes coalesce in one of Foe Pa's most popular recurring characters, Pouty Lower-Lip Guy. He writes diverse scripts for Foe Pa, ranging from insightful social satire to nonsensical whimsy.
YVIS CANNAVALE is a sucidal, homicidal, genocidal madman and has been tearing it up in the theater scene for quite sometime. Starting in San Francisco; he has performed in such plays as The Museum, The Cruciable and Merry Wives of Windsor, to name a few. He then topped it all off by directing Dangerous Liasions, for which he recieved wide spread critical acclaim (which came from his mother and his italian uncle who doesn't speak english) He then moved to LA and he continued to perform and has had the honor of performing with the most talented group of people this side of the equator and but he mostly kept his fat ass on his couch watching TiVo. Oh you know what, this is pointless. His therapist was right, God does hate him.
MIRANDA SHADE would like to say that she has directed shows, is a founding member of some group, or has a degree in Drama at some college, like most of the talented folks in this group, but she'd be lying and not the kind of lying that she could laugh off as, "I'm just acting and honing my craft." Lying in a big way. Instead, she admits to doing three years of sketch comedy with various groups around LA and is a graduate of Second City's Conservatory Program. She can be seen performing improv comedy every Wednesday night at Second City. Additionally, she is a magician's assistant and is known to disclose tricks when pressured or sleepy. Her biggest credits at this point are in roles such as Left Thigh in the Mercedes commercial, Girl Who Does Crazy Flip in the Gap commercial, and the Bad Date in the eHarmony commercial.
AARON LYONS is a Ringling Brothers' Circus-born Bostonian who has held a myriad of jobs over the years: from carpenter to cowboy, line cook to landscaper, temp to truck-driver. But the one profession that has been a constant in his life since 1989 is Acting. To date, he has performed in seventy-five plus theatrical shows, 10 films, two commercials, and a few World Tours. As a founding member of Foe Pa, he thrills at the opportunity to work with such a talented and diverse group of people. When he's not writing, editing, or brainstorming ideas, he's most likely catching up on his Tivo'd programs, playing Sudoku, or finally reading all the books that he originally purchased in order to make his library look both impressive and eclectic. He also likes categorizing, alphabetizing, and arranging his cd, dvd, and literary libraries.
