FOIE GRAS ACTION's Blurbs

About me:
Foie Gras Action was formed to combat the restaurant trade's continued sale of foie gras, a 'delicacy' made from the diseased livers of ducks and geese. On a daily basis, the birds have pipes forced down their throats and are fed grain until their livers become inflamed, swollen and infected. They can swell upto ten times their natural size, causing the birds to suffer, before they have their throats slit.

The practice of farming birds to make foie gras was outlawed in the UK due to the immence cruelty involved, but a loophole in the act makes it legal to import the food. Restaurants throughout the country serve the dish and we intend to highlight those involved and bring an end to this grisely trade.

Meet on the front steps of St Paul's Cathedral at 7:00pm for an evening foie gras demonstration at a nearby restaurent. Shall leave steps promptly at 7:15pm to start the demonstration. Demo will probably last between 90 minutes and 2 hours, so if you can please join us. This restaurent, with no fewer than 6 different foie gras dishes on the menu, will no doubt be teeming with very wealthy businessmen, so it's very important we let them know what the foie gras industry is all about. We normally get very good support from the public with this kind of demo, as most people are as disgusted with foie gras as we are. Contact on the day: 07900420971.
