"...If there is a group performing tighter, more intricate harmonies, I haven't heard them." - Misha Davenport, Chicago Sun-Times, March 13, 2000
"endlessly entertaining. . . . effortless and entrancing three-part harmonies that are unequaled in Chicago. . . . a charming, witty and melodious success." -Jeff Rossen, Cabaret Scenes, October 28, 2005
"Just wait until you hear this vocal trio harmonize - you won't be disappointed. Give this trio a piano, three microphones and a good songbook and there isn't any tune it can't conquer." -
Jason Heineman, Time Out Chicago, October, 2005
Formed in 2001 for their first show Holiday Bizarre and named so because all three members at the time were getting their highlights "foiled" at the same salon, Foiled Again has been delighting audiences in the Chicago area with their amazing harmonies and intricate arrangements. They have been seen many times at Davenport's, Speakeasy Supper Club, Theatre Building Chicago, Chicago Cultural Center, The Drake Hotel, as part of the City of Chicago's Miles of Music, and the Sondheim in the Park celebration, and even opened for Lesley Gore at the Acorn Theatre.
Their shows include Hit Factory: The Songs or the Brill Building, Dark Cafe Days: The Music of Joni Mitchell (which helped them earn a 2003 After Dark Award), Old Black Magic: The Music of Harold Arlen, Holiday Bizarre, Holiday Wish List, and Foiled Again Essentials (a greatest hits show). Foiled Again has also sung back-up vocals many times for Colleen McHugh and can be heard on her CD Songs of Self-Delusion. Whether you are already a fan or are planing on seeing them for the first time, they are sure to leave you wanting more!
guess what i just got?! you wouldnt believe it if i told you lol, but you know all those lame azz ads people are sending to each other about $500 Macys cards? i got a chance to do one and ya its legit. makes sense now why its all over the place lmao. im pretty sure i got mine from this site right here, im not sure so click to go check it out. if its right make sure you take 1 so we can get some gear
Sorry I missed your show in Michigan. I really wanted to see it, but I had to be at school so early. I hope you can forgive me :) Anyway, I am glad to hear you will be performing again in August (my birthday month, by the way) so I can see you again soon.
What a fantastic show last Friday!! I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed myself. The perfect blend of funny and touching songs combined with your amazing voices made for a truly delightful evening. I can't wait to come and see you again. May your Holidays be as merry as you have made mine.
I was checking out your profile when I decided to listen to the song samples you provide (thanks for that).
The reason I love you three so much is all right there in the opening of ONE FINE DAY. You guys Rob jokes and everyone laughs, then Alison messes up, you laugh some more (I think I can hear me laugh after the Dusty crack)... and then you come in and hit perfect harmony and sing an amazing song. I love your sound so much, but it's the live performance that can't be missed. See you at Davenports.
Hey Guys, I'm a huge fan!! It broke my heart to miss your last show but I'm scheduling everything around the next one...Keep 'em coming and save me a ticket!
Ok... so I'm a little slow... it took me a while to notice you folks are playing at Davenport's. Then I remembered about the Nyro tribute show there a couple of years or so ago.. 'Stoned Soul Picnic - The Music of Laura Nyro'. I didn't get to attend, but I heard plenty about it and I know that Ms. Bazarko was a part of the show. Tres kewel! Thanks for finding the Laura tribute page.
Best to you, Allison, Robbie and Anne. See you up on the roof...
I love the smooth sounds of Foiled Again. These kids are the whole package. They are funny, entertaining, and fantastic singers!
They are not to be missed!
