Theese songs have practically written themselves. My job has simply been to welcome them and treat thme descently. So I invited my girlfriend and four of my best friends to my cottage in the woods and then spot on – there it was.

Folkengine play songs about love of the old vinyls, an old Mercedes Benz, God and people and the urge for roustabouting. The music unfolds in a mythical folk/rockuniverse spiced with elements from bluegrass, country, the great wide open and small cinister rooms.

Our inspiration comes from flaws played yummily and broken old vinyls with Tom Waits, Neil Young and Gram Parsons.

Folkengine spiller sange der handler om kærlighed til vinylplader, en gammel hvid Mercedes Benz, Gud og mennesker og en trang til at flytte hele tiden. Musikken udfolder sig i et mytisk folk/rock univers krydret med elementer fra bluegrass, country, store vidder og små skumle rum.

Inspirationen er fejl spillet lækkert, og slidte vinylplader med Tom Waits, Neil Young, og Gram Parsons.

Sounds Like:

Neil Young and Ryan Adams meets at a coffee shop and decides to invite Rick Ruben (Johnny Cash American Highway producer) to a remote mountain area, carrying only a guitar, grand piano and an old reel tape recorder. Before they are finished with the coffee, they both drop the idea but enters a recording facility enchanted by a great spirit.
