A whirlwind of talent inside a tornado of amazing.
Howdy and welcome to Folkin' Good Times. We here are a singer/songwriters collective, with the aim of gettin' as many gigs for performers in Wellington, and maybe in other cities too, if we get our act together. We're quite keen on giving people who don't give people who don't get to gig often a shot at it, and also to set them up on the same nights as slightly better known artists, so that they can get exposure. We still gettin' things together, so bare with us. If you're keen for a gig, let us know, we can put your song up on here if you want, and maybe I might get round to organising some jam sessions too. We've also got a few gigs coming us to kick it all off, so you should head down! Let us know about your existence on this planet, and we'll see what we can do for each other.
We're also looking for anyone else who can help, such asphotographers/ filmers/ promoters/ venues/ radio stations/ designer type people/ poster type people, as my google image/MS paint/ Microsoft Word skills only go so far... We hope to get a one-stop directory of a legion of singer/songwriters and performers, who we can dispatch to events if/when their needed. I also hope to get us a compilation CD together at some stage...
Cheers

Hi Jimmy, How's things folk'in in Wellie? Lots of new acoustic nights happening in Christchurch right now. There's a new vibrancy and need for people to express themselves right now.

Thanks for that review my friend, we're both very flattered and pleased at your kind words! I must say it was a lot more in depth than I expected from your self-depreciating intro. It seems to me that you commented on everything that was worth a comment. I also liked how you changed the review style considering it was a demo and not an album. Another reviewer might have said that the grainy/sweet guitar sounds did not go together if they were viewing it from an album perspective, so I thought it was very astute of you to focus on the musical aspects instead. I think your understanding of the way things are structured from a musician's perspective has shone through here.
I thought it was well rounded and well structured! One critique is that I was expecting to read more about the live performance in there after reading the title - maybe that's more due to title selection than the actual review though. I think that would work really well as just a demo review.
So thanks again and good job! It's really nice for us to have another perspective. I hope to see more of your writing on that blog, I'll keep checking back!
Hopefully I can make one of the next two shows, might have a gig on the same night for one of them. If not, the sfbh show looks pretty juicy :) Good to see you're heading to folk fest as well! Good times!
