Traditional Music Is Alive and Well in New York City!
We make music the old-fashioned way. We play it. We sing it. Sometimes we even dance to it. And we invite you to join us.
We are the Folk Music Society of New York, Inc., also known as the New York Pinewoods Folk Music Club, so named because our founding members met one summer at the Pinewoods Camp in Massachusetts. We are a not-for-profit educational corporation and an affiliate of the Country Dance and Song Society of America. We sponsor concerts, weekend retreats, workshops, classes, singing parties, community sings, and get-togethers, all with an emphasis on traditional folk music of various flavors. We also produce the annual Eisteddfod New York Festival of Traditional Music.

Howdy and thank you very much for supporting my music, you are very kind. Happy listening and come back any time because my arms are as open as Alaska.
Please check out our new comedic “vampire bankers” music video. The guy who directed this also directed Madonna’s first music vid. We think it’s pretty funny. It’s available as a free mp3 download on http://www.ukejackson.com
Thanks for being our friend! Uke Jackson and the NY Ukulele Ensemble
We had a great time at the Housetop concert on Friday, March 13. That performance space on the Broadway mall at West 96th Street is really well suited to this type of event. Bravo!
Y'all are most welcome. I'm glad we got to do it, and I felt honored to be the one asked. Tell Jerry I'll be in touch oner the next few days, I'm going to come in town on Saturday night or Sunday mroning. Katz's awaits...
